So what is your weight and bike weight?

I weigh 64kg. Bike is about 8kg. Plus I added a few kilos for stuff I wear.

Any idea what I could use? Need some sharpish tbh.

Defy is a total pain in the arse for guards. I think only the giant own brand and cruds will fit. And I couldn't get either to fit on 25mm tyres so I have to run 23s. It's the clearance under the brakes - it's crap.

I just put in 165lbs and got similarly surprisingly low figures. Maybe it's not quite as good for lighter riders (when I worked out mine I was at just over 80kg + ~10kg for bike + equipment).

That said, if I don't get pinch flats on awful Manchester "roads" at 90-95 psi at 15-20kg heavier than you I can't imagine you need to run as high a psi as I do.

Yeah, you could be right. I tend to run them at 90 front and rear. But after a week I can start to feel the wee bit of pressure loss in the rear so wouldn't want to be running less than that.

I notice similar in my rear tyre too. On the other hand, I've had times where I was really lazy and it got down to about 60 psi without any issues so perhaps we both need to adjust our perception (or I just got lucky that time :p).

So last week I picked up a tandem I was offered for a bargain price.

After replacing the tyres and tubes a couple of mates took it for a test ride tonight

I was waiting for this update but I found a very useful tip earlier this week which does the same thing and works great. Edge 810 or 1000 required. Also, doesn't require a premium Strava account.

Summary: Copy your Strava segment URL to this site: http://gniza.org/segments/#/, select the time from the list you want to download (KOM or your PR), click the Export as FIT file, copy the segment file to your Garmin 'New files' directory and that's it.
Then when you're out riding and you get close to that segment it will count you down to the start, show GO and track your position ahead/behind in seconds. Works on the map view, elevation and virtual partner screens.

This is brilliant and exactly why I want a Garmin, such a fantastic aid! We need this on phones.

Urgh. The clearance is tight, I were looking earlier. Have you got the same brakes as me?

Saw this on Strava. Brilliant :D

Thanks for all the input re: my pressures guys...

At 80psi the tyre is only very slightly touching the fork and only at a certain point during the turn. It really probably is only a couple of mm! It's got me thinking, could there be a buckle or alignment issue with my wheel? If so, do I need to get it to some professionals or is there anything I can do :p

what frame and fork is it? most stuff will clear a 25 these days

^^ Sorry, I'm not meaning to sound daft but what do you mean? As I spin the wheel, the rub is only really audible once a turn.
