Me, absolutely fantastic tyre! So comfy, and such great grip, but wouldn't ride them in the wet, they don't offer much grip! Go for 24s!

That was going to be my next question! 22 or 24. Have Pro4 on my Giant but noticed they need replacing and these represent a saving over Pro4s at the moment so will give them a try.

I got them to top up an order after doing a bit of reading on them. And reviews were very accurate. Been pretty strong so far. Only 1 puncture in majorca (jinx myself no doubt)

You'd be surprised. I was out in a Torm sportwool (merino mix) jersey today and it was alright. My head was sweating more than anything else!!

Think our hest outputs may be different. Just been out this evening in the club jersey! Proper sweat on. And pretty cloudy, windy and a good 6c cooler than earlier. Shall be using these for when it's a bit cooler! Lovely jersey though!

Merino mix is actually quite good for heat regulation, did a few rides last year in a torm as well and was nice and cool.

At that price it looks like a folding version of the Zaffiro. If so, it's a good tyre. I have Zaffiro slicks on my geared commuter. Good grip, doesn't get sliced up too much, stuff doesn't stick in it, so pretty good for puncture resistance. The sidewalls on the Zaffiro crack quite quickly, which is curious, but it doesn't seem to affect the tyre.

it's a seriously reduced pretty high end thing as planet x do sometimes. 220tpi isn't to be sniffed at

You guys who have had bike fits... couple of questions while I'm checking my own position. With the pedal at the 3 o'clock position, is your knee vertically above the pedal axle? And Is the nose of your saddle 50mm behind the bottom bracket (as per UCI regs)?

I know it's considered a starting point, but I'm a bit confused how you can achieve the knee over the pedal axle thing without either having the saddle slammed forwards or by having the saddle so low that the bike would be near impossible to ride comfortably.

I've bought a new saddle bag, and my old one is surplus to requirements, zip is broken (just the metal bit that you hold when you zip it up)

if anyone wants it, your welcome to it

its a topeak Large "strap" saddlebag

did you watch the whole thing one guy whacks into a bike too at 0:40

but without the car the first guy would have been in the woods surely

yes, was lucky that car was there to be honest, its just after that, they start stopping on a decent! even whens there's a (ill call it a parking bay) just off the road where there's a few spectators

I'll check for you tomorrow!

That is interesting and it obviously works for him but that is almost the polar opposite of how I clean my bikes. I'm normally squeezing rides in when I don't really have the time so cleaning after every ride isn't really an option for me anyway.

Same, I 'clean my bike' probably once every couple of weeks, maybe even once a month (if it's not filthy from commuting in the rain). My drivetrain I clean far more frequently - usually weekly, I'll wipe it down at least once a week, sometimes more and always before relubing.

Keep pushing™

Made me lol :D

I'm fine on flats but hills wipe me out, I know the best thing is to ride hills more but is there a method like lots of hills slow and steady or lots of hills flat out or maybe interval style? I'm 100kg so hills are always going to be more difficult until I can drop some of the weight off

Cheers guys. My problem at the moment is that my HR just goes through the roof as soon as I see an incline, quite regularly in the lakes!

Really depends what you mean by 'hills'! If you mean the lakes then you're after stamina and pacing yourself up longer climbs rather than pushing hard up short sharp ones...

I'm the same as you so now nearly all of my leisure riding tries to involve hills!:D

Best bit - managed a day out in search of cobbles! Tackled the Paterberg first, and made it (just!) to the top. Koppenberg next, as it's just a km or two round the corner... Made the steepest bit, but felt like I was about to blow just before the final steep bit to the top, so made the decision to climb off - I'll do it next time. The Oude Kwaremont at the end of the shortish ride was the most enjoyable - I think my legs had got going, the steep section was fine, recovered through the village and felt able to push myself to the top.

Very jealous! Well done! Strava link? ;)
