my favourite saddle was discontinued in 1997. Permanently scrounging for them on retrobike these days
Lol, yeah, my favourite was discontinued probably in 1977. I'm also always watching Retrobike in case one ever turns up :D

Edit: so if anyone has an old nylon Royal GT they want rid of, my bottom will be eternally thankful to you :)

Haven't been on the bike for about a month and a half :( recovering from a slight knee ligament issue. Hopefully be able to get on the turbo this weekend maybe and go for a spin. Been missing it and the pounds gaining isn't helping!

I got out for 26 dark windy miles on the single speed this evening. Good fun, I really like that bike.

All that talk of recovery food the other day... I'm not having any of this faffing about with fruit smoothies - I'm having beer and ice cream.

'Bang for buck' (£100) I would say yes, but I'm half kicking myself that I didn't invest a little more and go for the Scirocco's when the normal (non 35 rims) were in stock and around the £170 mark. I assuming they would've been a substantial enough upgrade over the Khamsin's.

They were bad! Didn't cut up too badly but a rubbish for grip, slidey slidey in the wet!

Think ill get them then :D

I felt the Giant tyres were dangerous, the difference was insane!

That is my kind of nutrition :D

I know this will be hard to quantify but how much of the fun factor do you think comes from the fact it is a single speed as opposed to the bike itself being steel framed etc?

once you do 10 miles a couple of times 20 is easy :D hard part is getting faster :D

wez, Don't worry about getting faster when you're starting out, it'll soon come! ;)

I went for a ride today also, went to grab something from my saddle bag and touched some dog **** that had splattered on it near the zip

Ewwww! Mudguards! Poopguards!

Well some footage of a rather disgusting overtake on the way home. Just to show the quality of the Fly6. Unfortunately, the jerk overtakes so fast I can't make out his number plate. Right next to a playground as well.

Wouldn't have been bad at half that speed, at those speeds he defo needed to give you more room! A bit disappointed with the quality, unless the original 720p is loads better?

Take it easy with ligaments, don't put too much pressure on it too soon! Do some light cadence work, not intervals/power. Ease it back in, it'll be sore so might just be best with some turbo and nothing else. I find when I hurt mine that it takes days to recover!

Think ill get them then :D

Pretty sure you won't regret it, they're beautiful! Just make sure you know what asymmetric means first! ;) I went with the G3's as the marketing info made me think they were 'better' than the standards even though both are asymmetric.

I love this video..

Great fun to watch, they should give him wheelsets to test lol ;)

This one too (bit more genuine, less 'practiced'):

Took a rest day today in preparation for the 50 tomorrow. Weather forecast has changed so many times I really don't know what to expect... Currently the thunderstorms and rain are in the afternoon/evening (when I'm off to a wedding party, hope its indoors). So fingers crossed it doesn't change again! Jinxed it now! ;)

Ouch! Wouldn't like to be one of those Albanians when Oleg finds them...

Giant team kit from prendas isn't overly expensive, I actually ordered some Giant-Shimano (better looking kit than the G-A) jerseys from there last night (£39 each iirc). They do the shorts too, think it's all Etxeondo kit so not cheap knockoff kit like China ;)

Arrived this morning, so ordered Wednesday night with a Royal Mail 24 delivery (free? They didn't seem to charge me extra!). Shipped yesterday morning at 8am. Arrived this morning at 9am! Came all the way from Germany in ~37 hours!

I think it was worse than it looks, I felt something brush my elbow :P

Yeh, the quality doesn't look that great there. Perhaps YouTube downgraded the quality. The conditions weren't exactly great though, it was a lot darker than it looks. I'll try and upload some day time vids for comparison when I'm not at work.

It looked like he was mostly over into the other lane, unless you're in the middle of your one? That's more room than most people give me :D

kinda the same, have been giving my knee a rest for the last couple of weeks after it didn't get any better after hitting it on a car door. I've started to do some other exercises as well to balance out leg muscles, hopefully will help in the future.

new commuter frame arrived today, Dolan FXE in matte black. Found a 1 inch crack in my old Felt Dispatch frame near the top to seat tube weld so it's going in the bin. Dunno weather to leave it matte black or get it painted as it's kinda stealth.

It's a very impressive run anyhow :) I might give in and buy a Stages next month, despite the slightly dubious stories I've heard about them on here. Sadly there aren't many cheap options just yet. I was hoping the 4iiii home-install kit would be out by now.

I've not had any trouble with my Stages so far (touch wood) but I haven't ridden it in the rain yet as I generally wouldn't ride my TT bike in the rain unless I had to.
