Few Hill repeats tonight after my tt **** up last night. Happy with my power output and completed one more effort than planned. Traffic was mad round this way. Which was annoying everytime o got to the top of the hill. Hoping for more weather like that shorts and jersey with arm warmers was just right!

Urgh, planned to swap my SRAM Rival from the cracked frame to replace the Tiagra on my previous bike I'm using.

Did not go well, I now have two non-functional bikes until I get some bar tape and a shifter cable set :(

Finally, the bikes that are staying are pretty much sorted. My 105 is on my Planet X bike and it's been tested on two decent rides and it works. The bar tape isn't perfect, but I can live with that. My tdf now has my old tiagra on it, and I've popped a spare rack on it so I have an emergency backup commuter. It's tiagra throughout apart from the front mech, which is Claris, as the tiagra one I had was the wrong size band, but I'll ignore that for now. And finally my beautiful new Genesis flyer - same as the bike physichull has been showing off - is set up. I'd been a bit worried about having picked a small, because when I sat on it in the shop the reach felt very short. Mr salesman had put the saddle down pretty low, which I could tell was wrong just looking at it. I've measured it properly tonight and it had to go up 6cm, and I've pulled it right back on the rails. It wouldn't hurt to knock it back another centimetre or so, but I'd need a layback seat post for that, so I'll see how I get on as it is. I've changed the tyres as well, put Lithion 2s on it in place of the stock ones which get poor reviews. Disappointingly the ones I've taken off are wire bead, so won't shift so well on eBay and won't be easy to post. Hey ho. So, all set up to commute on the new bike tomorrow. Looking forward to it!

As for what's going, the Pompino is ready for me to clean and touch up. I've got a little pot of enamel paint that matches reasonably well, so hopefully it'll turn out ok. Then that'll be up on eBay as well.

That's the saddle i want :)

I had this saddle on my old Allez and it was really rather good! Got rid of all my pains from being in the saddle too long! Luckily I didn't have any problems with the seat on my replacement bike, otherwise I would have moved it over.

It's very important to get your sit bones measured though, doesn't matter what the seat is if it's the wrong size!

Installed the fixed sprocket yet? I got the locking nut tool so it's all tightened up! Maybe have a play on Friday.

Leave it be. Ive got a huge distance on the initial grease without having to re-lube, never understood why anyone would want to strip it off

This. You'll get 200-300 miles on the grease that comes with the chain.

The only thing I'd ever consider doing is getting a rag wet with gt85 and wiping the outside of the chain to make it a little less likely to attract dirt.

Last night I went to swap from Chinese carbon handlebars to Deda alloy ones, for the extra stiffness and the extra room for lights etc. Ended up getting the di2 cables stuck inside the internal routing of the Chinese carbon.

Well, two di2 cables cost the same as the carbon handlebars, and I had a spare set of bars, so I broke the bars apart with a hammer, saw and chisel to get the cables out.

Kind of surprised really, the carbon was insanely flexy on the bike, but turned out to be a tough ******* when you set out to actually destroy it! It also gave me a pile of carbon splinters - fun!

Rubbish, buy a load of Rapha and learn how to stand by your bike!

Talking of Rapha.....

Anyone tried the core range?

I need some more bibs but didn't want to fork out for the full price pro teams $335, I have one pair already and a pair of the thermal pro teams.

The core bibs share the same pad and are only $180, I thought they might make good training shorts.
