The one time I actually make it back to the finish in bunch at this 'APR' I didn't get strava on! A lot better than last week for sure.

Group I was with ended up just 4 or 5 wheeling about and I skipped a few turns but when recovered I did take them again. Got dropped from that group(after it was blown to **** by the 5 of us wheeling about), 'super scratch' caught me as I was still on the hill I hate but I got onto them for less than a minute(24mph average at that point), once over the climb I started to shift at my own pace until the scratch caught me and I just stuck with them until the end.

The only guy to hang onto the super scratch from my group averaged about 22mph, the guy that got dropped and caught with the group that got me averaged 21.7mph so I imagine I'm still over 21mph average for it. Fastest guys were up at 24.5mph average speed but that had guys that are top ten in 2/3/4 races and a guy who's getting 1st in some good TTs around here.

That's my excuse anyway :)

I witnessed a minor crash on the way in this morning. I was going right at a roundabout, so going round to three o clock. As I came to the 9 o clock exit the traffic stopped for me, so far so good, but a cyclist clearly hadn't been paying attention as he managed to bin it into the back of a bmw at the front of the queue which had stopped for me. It was low speed and he got up looking fine so I cycled on, but I'm guessing the bmw driver wasn't pleased and it wouldn't surprise me if he'd broken a spoke or two in his front wheel.

Physio last night again. Diagnosis is that my shoulder dislocated during my crash and done some lovely stretchy damage to all the ligiaments and crap in that area of my little body. Physio had a lot of fun poking around my collarbone and shoulder and eased it a lot but back to very sore today.

I have done 2x 60mins on turbo with both hands on the bars and feel alright but my TT debut tonight I have withdrawn from and racing tomorrow has now been ruled out :(

Top tip, if a muppet crashes 2cm's in front of you, aim for the muppet, not the bike because it is easier to try bunnyhopping a bloke than his bike... Also, if you do go over on the bloke, he is softer than his bike or the tarmac so always aim for the muppet and hope for the best :D

A guy from work is doing LEJOG in September. It's going to be some mean feat considering he just got a road bike and started cycling regularish in March.
Quite a big aim but depending on his training and starting fitness totally doable. My neighbour did similar last year (after cycling for less than 6 months) and now races CAT4 & climbs Huez & Ventoux for fun...

:(
2 years after me!
Now that's what I call a badass jersey:

Actually quite like the look of that, very regal blue! Maybe I need to look at Torm again...

Awesome ride and mad speeds! Chaingang here last night was quick too, one day I'm going to try it out and just see if I can hang on for more than 5 minutes lol
Nice weather again and it's a bit warmer this morning. Hopefully this all lasts a while as I don't have much time to get out cycling this week.
Sun is glorious but wind was chilly this morning, some frosts on cars and hadn't warmed up much in the shade. Had a good push up Westfaling street I'm going to try and continue doing as finding it a quite good test of power. The ~2 minutes it takes is a good foundation for me to build some efforts from when pushing/climbing seated.

Guys at work have signed up to ride 180km around lake Geneva on the 15th, trying to get me to do it too. I reckon I'd do the distance, but last time I went out with them, they're smashing away at 42-45kph the whole way. Leaves me for dead!

Just go for it. You'll be fine...or you'll die..but either way it'll be fun :p

Just be sure to take extra liquids and more food than you think you will need. Worst comes to worst you can just complete the last half solo.

Fun. I did 30 miles or so around one of the Interlaken lakes on a mountain bike last year... some hills there! Bike shop guy didn't have any hybrids left to rent and insisted we would need the mountain bikes anyway

I managed to convince a friend in Lausanne to get a new road bike so hoping he'll be up for some Swiss cols this summer.

I'd love to do that as well but not strong enough yet. I found a route that links up two different ways, looks pretty brutal :)

There's some audax routes around there as well

http://www.aukweb.net/perms/map/

That route looks pretty nice actually though hilly! Let me know when you feel strong enough for it... I'll be up for joining.

I should probably look at the audax routes site more often - looks useful.

I've been spanking the Watt Bike in the gym at work during lunch. Sore legs :(

I find my ability to pedal smoothly through the entire revolution goes out of the window when I'm tired as well. Unsurprising really.

Do you work for Team Sky? Cos that's like pro-speed isn't it?

Is 40kph like 15mph these days or something? ;)

He works for Team Canyon. Also a ringer for Katusha, so don't know why he's complaining as he'll have a team car to hold onto...;)

Same here, I get very robotic and pedal in squares when really flagging lol:(

Exciting times. I think/hope my Canyon is dispatched today!

Your order was handed over to our logistics partner UPS Deutschland Inc. & Co. OHG earlier today and will be delivered to you within the next few days.

Went out earlier for my first proper ride after swapping to clipless pedals. Did a quick ride yesterday trying to get used to clipping in and out.

Only had 1 slight issue with the pedals, unclipped as I was approaching my front door and pop my foot back on the pedal clipped back in. Thankfully with frantic foot twisting and grabbing for the wheelie bin I managed not fall sideways still clipped in.

Good work. I had my first two clipless falls within about 5 mins of each other :D

Both on the hybrid... first time I was trying to work out if I had a puncture or not on the dirt trail round Richmond Park while still moving albeit very slowly... lost balance and fell over in front of a massive group outside the cafe! Then couple of minutes later I got to the top of a hill where we were going to stop and made sure I was clipped out way before stopping... of course I managed to clip back in again by accident without realising!
