I swear the sun is bringing out some fair weather numpties... This morning I saw a cyclist waiting to turn right at a huge crossroads who couldn't be bothered waiting so started weaving across the pedestrian crossings, because apparently that's ok, then had to bail out when a car turned into one of the lanes he was sneaking across. Idiot.

I've been working on my tan lines with the odd bits of nice weather we've had recently. They seem to be coming along nicely though much like Vonhelmet, mine never really fully go each year.

My tan lines seemed to last through winter... though definitely faded a little. I think the one day I had riding in Mallorca early September boosted them for the winter. I did seem to get windburn on the face during winter a few times.

So many midges out last night... I think I pretty much ate dinner while riding!

I have had my legs out ONCE so far this year in this bloody country and you boys are talking about tan lines?!?!?

Surely a bit of your leg is always on show, because you know, knee warmers ;)

Still: The weather this week has just suddenly turned. Check the temp scale on my ride yesterday: https://www.strava.com/activities/565082841/analysis The spike at 38C is me sitting in the sun at the pub having a wee apple juice.

I think I need a secondary rear light. Got home last night and discovered my rear light had ran out of battery... Moon Nebula. It's great and nice and bright but I feel like battery life isn't super long. I have one of those cheap Smart rear lights that I sometimes stick on the back of my helmet as a second light but would kinda prefer something rechargeable. Any good deals on pulsing rear lights?

I was out on my bike all day last saturday + sunday. Cold but sunny, so I was fully covered up except my hands (the gloves I took were far too hot so I had to remove them).
Hands got sunburnt and now the silly tan lines from when I had bare sleeves + gloves on have gone

Winter is soon here which means tanning time! Can relax a bit with the sunscreen, but I have a pasty English tan compared to the locals.

There nothing healthy about a tan remember folks, it's skin cells in trauma and you can get a melanoma easily if you're not careful. Slip slop slap on that sunscreen. Sunglasses and maybe a cycling cap to keep the sun off your face.

Hour of power on Zwift tonight, I was going to do the KISS race, but forgot to connect my phone to wifi (I leave it on 4G as its a lot faster than the adsl) so got to the start with a minute to go and couldn't do a U turn hahah. All good, it's a nice workout in the garage when time poor and it's dark out.

Got a puncture last night, replaced the tube all fine and inflated it fine, but every time I tried detaching/unscrewing my pump from the valve it unscrewed the valve with it! So unbelievably annoying, had to faff about with a cumbersome adjustable spanner to try and nip it up tight enough so it didn't just unscrew every time and expel all the air I'd just pumped into it!

Note for the future, before you go out, always nip up your inner tube valves with a small pair of pliers!!!

There's a special tool for doing that. It's plastic so it stops you from chewing up the threads with a pair of pliers.

edit: actually, that one is metal. I guess it's small enough that you cant put much force on it.

Ah cool! Thanks!

I've never had an issue before today, but it took a ten minute repair to a 20 minute repair plus swearing.

And, if I wasn't on my single speed I wouldn't have had my adjustable spanner with me that I used to tighten it up with. Even trying that, I failed the first time as my spanner is crap. If I hadn't got that, ID have been radioing the team car to pick me up!
