£50 will get you a pair of Aerofit 700 shorts from decathlon, which are apparently what team FDJ.fr use, so they should be alright.

Cheers Von, I've got a work trip on Tuesday so I'll see if I can drop in on route and have a look.

Took a bit of a punt on a pair of Rivelo bibs. Might be a while to get here though (maybe too late for my sportive) so I will most likely grab another pair so I can cycle a couple of decent pairs and keep my current ones for short evening rides.

Seems that the other people from work on my sportive ride have really stepped up their game posting some pretty solid 75 mile rides on Strava. I've just got back from working in the middle east so my prep has been some what screwed :( I think I've gone to the top spot for person most likely to die on their **** :p

Watching the Giro stage today and getting slightly scared. 5 weeks to the Maratona....gulp

They were some seriously steep and prolonged hills today.

Wish I could go out cycling this weekend but I've got another cold/cough combo. The last cough took about a month to shift so I'm pretty annoyed with that. Hoping I get over this one quicker.

There's no point reminding people not to post spoilers after spoilers have already been posted.

Pre-empting it keeps everyone happy ;)

Fair comment, except we were talking about the Dolomites and the race was not really the point, but I can see how it could be mistaken as such.

This mornings work, saw the mount Kimi posted a few weeks back so picked up a couple from Wiggle:

(Really wish my housemate would let me scrap his POS excuse of a bicycle )

Opted to fix them to some 18mm MDF rather than straight to the wall as inevitably some adjustments will be needed and also leaves scope to easily hang some other things up there too.

Took the weight of me fully clothed plus bike boots 85KG+ happily enough :p That said the levers are slightly different as the weight is centered about 2 foot away from the wall.

Scicon fits nicely in the middle (when not up in the rafters) with the bike in the middle on a display stand. Left is my old boardman/turbo bike for now.

I had my Allez selling on the bay in anticipation for the new arrival in June, at the time I didn't really know what i was going for, but knew I was going to change.

105 (5700) groupset and Zondas. 7 days, one offer, not enough, so...

Reverted it back to the standard 2300 groupset and CXP22 wheels and got the same offer from the same buyer, so sold it.

Now the same buyer is bidding on the groupset and wheels which combined is more than i was asking for the whole thing in the first place :confused:

Go figure the logic in that.:D

Pro tip: when you design a new route that is much easier and has 2000ft less climbing make sure you actually load that route and not the original.

So angry 70 miles in when I confirmed my suspicions :/

Good stuff.

You've taken some of my club top times:mad:

Probably too late to arrange anything but I'll be out on my bike tomorrow if you want any company in and around Worcester

I felt pretty rough for most of the ride but my anger at the extra hills helped a little :p

I'm actually fairly set on being lazy tomorrow so I doubt I'll be about sorry. Next time I'll definitely drop you a line in advance though.

Good ride this morning. 33 miles, a couple of cat 4 climbs, about 1600ft climbing in total. I averaged 15.9mph which is good for me. I am getting faster, bit by bit. I was more mindful of my cadence this time, which made things easier. It felt quite spinny at times, which is probably better than it feeling grindy!

It was pretty cold and damp. The weather seems to be improving into the afternoon.

Felt pretty terrible today but dragged myself out for a short ride. Not ridden for two weeks due to the bike being out of action. I smashed a PR goal on a local Cat4 climb i had set and ended up getting 2nd place KOM for the year. I'm only 6 seconds off KOM so i will attack it again when i'm feeling more up to it!

The bike felt great today, front end certainly felt more responsive and the new bars soaked up the bumps lovely! Some of you might recognise this (rather famous) hill climb :D

p.s. the hay bales are a big give away...
