Road Cycling

Hi guys,

I was reading a few pages back that none of you here rate the Conti Gatorskins? I was recommended them in my local shop as a good all-rounder. But I have noticed lately that they are starting to squeak a lot when I corner sharply... they can't have done anymore than 500 miles?

So if I were to change, what's the flavour of the month on here? Staying with Conti's probably. 23c ;)

1980 called, it wants its 23c tyres back.

Michelin Pro4 Endurance v2 will always be my vote, and you can get them in 23c for £22 a pop. I rate them over any Conti tyres I've used (GP4000s, 4 seasons, Ultra sports and Gators)

Ha, the last time I tried 25c's (Schwalbe I think they were) they rubbed on my forks :(

Is there a chance Continental/Michelin might be different?

Meet in Alderley Edge, Wizard, Brickworks, some other cat 3 I forget the name of, Goyt valley, back over the Cat and Fiddle, back to the Wizard from the other direction in time to see the pros coming over it, then head back to Tatton for the finish, route dependant on time and tiredness!

The cat3 from Brickworks to Goyt is Windgather, up Side End Lane

Probably not, the Pro4's measure quite wide - iirc, the 23's measure 24 wide, and the 25's measure 26 wide.

750ml High5 bottles, are there good ones and bad ones? I just got one from a no name eBay shop and I don't remember the lid being so crap. The cap has almost no lip on it and I swear my old one latched open.

^^ so, sticking with the 23c's then? :D

Bit tight right?

Gatorskins are no where near as bad as people say, its all relative.
When I first had them, the Conti guy said, make sure you use some sand paper to rough them up a bit, they are a bit slippy and take a long time to wear in.
GP4000 SII are much, much better though :D
