Road Cycling

The Mrs saw an Ortho consultant the other day and said that if she "listened to her body" and didn't spin wattage bazookas, she could try having a spin, so I thought she could have some sexy bib shorts too :p

Any excuse to get the Mrs into something figure hugging eh? I know, I've got the t-shirt :D

I can relate to your plight here, my wife got struck by a virus which blitzed her pancreas and left her type 1 diabetic and on an insulin pump for life. Great you can find a way to turn this into something positive.

Disc brake people - any recommendations for pads? For my commuter road bike fitted with TRP hy/rd so ideally good performance in mixed conditions

Get the ones from UberBike that support HY/RDs. As above, there are several brands that claim they do but in the best case you'll have an absolute nightmare fitting them.

Ugh what a ****. Sorry to hear that! Have to try and make the negatives positive, it's what keeps you going :)

You looking forward to getting the women's stuff on? :p
He's going to stream it live!

Damn that sucks & sorry to hear it mate. Have a friend who rides with diabetes and he seems lucky, as it doesn't affect him too much.

Don't let life get you down! :D;)
Ive done a few miles tonight and Strava wont sync the ride. How do i get it sync'd now?
Do you get an error? How are you sync'ing? Does it show on Garmin Connect? Most Edge devices will mount as a removable drive when attached to a Windows PC, look in the 'Garmin' folder for an 'Activities' folder (if you have a memory card, then browse the device, not card). In there you should find a .fit file for each activity, you can manually select and upload them to Strava (click the + on the top right). I'm having to do this currently because my 810 is freezing whenever it BT'syncs.

She just gets on with life - the pump isn't too intrusive (you can wear it in different places around the body) and it saves her from having to inject herself 4 times a day. Just a shame she can't really do anything that burns energy for long, 30 mins of swimming and she has to stop to eat lol! Hey, there's people with way worse out there!

I sorted it in the end, I exported the file off my phone to the PC, uploaded the file to Strava through the main Strava website - hey presto it's up. Phew, nearly lost 16 miles there!!

I don't run a cycle computer (yet), I just run Strava off my phone.

Good to hear the Strava app records to a file that you can export/use then.

Kudos to your other half, like you say far worse things around! :(
All this talk of inner tubes, do I need to stock up in the UK?

I've had one flat on an old tubular all year after 12k km!
Yes. I've used around 7-8 this year, only 4 for myself but equally I've done less than 4000 miles (less than half yours!) ;) :p

That's including me fixing 2-3 punctures per tube before binning them btw.

Obviously not going through them at much of a rate right now but my mileage previously was 8k or more per year. Not sure of yours though I imagine it's similarly high.

Jinxing myself, but I've been quite lucky this year, been keeping on top of tyres and the lifeline pro armour on my commuter seem very hardy. Can only remember 3, One on MTB on it's first ride in about 2 years, one on an almost bald tub on the TT and one of the Road bike when the tyre got sliced.
