Overslept this morning so had to drive in, whoops. Aiming to cycle in tomorrow but Friday looks off limits due to snow! Next week looks cold and it's unlikely to get better until the new year so this might be me done for the time being...
We do indeed and I'd encourage anyone that wants to start such a thread to do so but I also don't see the current amount of turbo talk as so problematic that we need a hard rule about such talk being in that thread. This is a general road cycling discussion thread after all and the nature of that is that you're going to get crossover into subjects that aren't purely "cycling on a road".
Right hopefully my final ever "I still don't understand what i'm doing with disc brakes" post. I've switched out my TRP Hy/Rd pads for my new uberbike ones and reset the pad alignment. There is a bit of wheel rub and the brake comes on way quicker than they did before which is not a bad thing, but I'm worried I've missed something. They definitely fit a lot tighter than before, do I need to bleed them or something?
Don't bleed them.
Have you in any way modified the cable pull? Tightened up anything? It so, you need to make sure you can engage the safety bolt. Check this for more details.
I'd check the above anyhow but whether or not that is an issue you may also simply be suffering from the fact that the pads and cylinders are aligned slightly differently now. To fix you can just adjust the position of the calipers until there is no rub.
It's such weird weather here at the moment, it's not cold at all, in fact isn't been about 12-14c, so just an underlayer and long top on is fine. Yet, it's been spitting with rain, and ground water just sprays the crap out of you, covering you with grit/ mud. Missions.
You ok over there? The indoorsy pansy wansies have declared independence. It is a glorious day.
I propose that we allow them to take the following items to pansy wansy land so we do not have them in the hard men's road thread:
Rapha
Triathlon
Disc Brakes
Lidl
Commuting
Bike Lights
More space for talking about leg shaving and crashing in this here real thread.
EDIT - also, discussing any weather that is lesser than 30mph winds and 2 degree's in a negative manner belongs with the pansies.

Well done & congrats on your first turbo'ing. Hunt down The Sufferfest if you're after something good to watch for guided training, think they do a couple of free videos (there is also a paid sub with an app). Lots of other app/software options for that if you're after them - TrainerRoad, Zwift etc.Turbo trainer arrived and set up yesterday afternoon/evening. Spent 40 minutes on the trainer in the evening while watching some netflix. Worked fine, enjoyed it, looking forward to doing much more![]()
