Road Cycling

Everything I read online makes it sound like a cack job and I really don't need the money but neither of those two points stop me thinking that it would be quite cool to do Deliveroo deliveries a couple of nights a week :o

I won't ever do it but while bored in the hotel last night I did look into it. Having a proper job would make it quite stress free as you could just laugh at the people getting their knickers in a twist that they've had to wait 32 minutes for their Chicken Tikka Masala :p

Back to Start: Either on the ELEMNT or the Companion App, selecting this option will create a route back to your ride's starting point, on the same way you came.

I really cannot understand why Garmin haven't managed to include such a feature yet. Even my old Sigma Rox 10 could do this. Was well disappointed when I did an out and back route once and I couldn't find a way to reverse it.

Garmin does do thus and has done for as long as I've known it?

I'm getting into the TP as all the stuff xdcx provided in the past I just couldn't dedicate the time. TP is going to be purchased for a year I think to force me into using it. Currently track my sleep with sleep with android, guessing I can get this imported in some way shape or form.

I used to use Sleep as Android but just use the Fitbit now and wear it most nights it doesn't need charging.
For logging your sleep in TP, I just use the "Sleep Hours" metric and input that. There is also metrics for quality of sleep, time in REM sleep etc etc. I don't think you will be able to import from Android sleep app to TP but you could do the metrics entry manually and include all these in your TP metrics input if you could be bothered each day

RE: torque of Vector V1's.
I have never ever bothered.
"that's tight enough" and the job is done.

Yep. 100% Garmin has had such functionality for a very long time in most of their units.

Foggy and moist out on the roads today. Had a shouting match with some ****whit pedestrian and some lack of indicating drivers. Fun Thursday. Oh, and my neck and shoulders are seriously suffering this morning. Think I need a massage.

Does it really? How?

I cycled to a bike shop one way using the navigation 6 months or so back and could not find anyway in the interface to reverse my route nor could their Garmin 'expert'. Edge 810

RE. the above datageddon, I'd love to get more involved with meaningful data, but I need to take some time to really pay more attention and setup some decent training programs really.
Oh definitely, I think a training program to provide structure and at least some minor motivation is what I'm heading towards. I'd like to have a go at some Zwift races but only for fun with the real aim of racing 1 day a week. I'm a creature of habit, but really need to get into a routine of using the Turbo on certain weekday evenings (at least more than once a week!) before really looking at races.

Doesn't help that I look at weather forecasts with the aim of riding outside on the weekend so try to manage my fatigue levels so I'm not tired on a saturday/sunday morning (so no turbo thursday/friday)...
Planet x are offering the EC130E with ultegra for under a grand now. Given all the tales i've heard of them being in a bad way financially, this smacks of a fast cash-raiser to me.
Agreed, it's an incredible deal hinting that they've got surplus frame stock. I doubt they'd carry huge amounts of complete groupsets (over 1000?) but frames made/branded for them would probably be bought by multiple container loads (not sure how many frames you'd get in a container but it would be hundreds) to drive the production and shipping costs down.
Fantastic deal and so tempting for a set of 28's. Don't need them though as I've got a set of pro4's barely worn! Saw some S/H 28's go for £46 recently on eBay too!
No harm in having them over torqued only under. Easy enough to get them to the required torque without too much effort.
What torque is it? 6nM or something much more accurate (5.7nM), just pondering how easy it would be just to carry a £17 clicker style wrench. If the torque doesn't have to be 'exact' it would be accurate enough.

CRC black friday deals, cheap tyres if anyone wants for turbo use: £9 Conti Ultra Sport, Endura summer short socks 3 for £4, High5 gels (25 for £9), Castelli Climbers 2 jersey (only Large sizes) £45, DT Swiss R24 Spline wheelset £100.

Wiggle deals: Protein bars, 20g flapjack £1 each, Endura FS260 Pro jersey £20.

Paul: Raleigh X Team, carbon, X1, SRAM hydra £2275. Raleigh RX Pro, alloy, X1, SRAM hydra £975, seems an incredible deal compared to the carbon RX Team?!

Edit: If anyone spots a Wahoo ELEMNT for less than £200 please let me know.

KOM stolen email this morning. He absolutely smashed my time with 54mph avg over a flat section, max 68mph. My time was 30mph avg. In a 40mph zone...

I must admit that I now think of Planet-X as a company that mainly box shifts tat from China. They do still have decent stuff worth buying, like my Khamsins that I got a great deal on earlier in the year, but their (constant) email offers do have a whiff of Ali Express to the products.

A deal with Sports Direct (which I can't see happening) would be interesting. Go Outdoors have done well with their Caliber range of bikes, especially on the MTB side. With the number of Sports Direct stores out there if they could shift decentish bikes for around the £300 mark they could be in a position to worry Halfords.

Better up your game.

I was thinking about this kind of thing recently when I got overtaken up a 10% (MTB) hill by 2 guys doing about 15mph on their e-bikes. Kind of makes Strava redundant except for self competition.

Flag that mofo! Must be a car?

I would like to declare that I have taken offence at this statement and ask for both a swift and harsh punishment.

In my mind, xdcx is Begbie. :D

Flag them, FLAG THEM ALL! ;)
Totally NHS-free now. Woo :)
Woohoo! Result! How is it feeling now and how are you progressing? (movement & feel wise, not just cycling which I know you've thrown yourself back in to) :)

Edit: Climbing anyone? Route from in-laws to my parents, may need some better climbing legs before I attempt it! :D

Never mind e-bikes, I have to flag enough Strava runs which people have obviously done on bikes. Either that or round my house there are a lots of people who run WRs for fun!

On my 1000 it is

Where to > Back to Start

then you have options of along same route or most direct, yes the most direct is rubbish and never the best way home, but it works.
