Road Cycling

Dropped my 810 whilst at the shop earlier and broke it :/ Out of warranty too (which for dropping you might not think I should claim on but it was literally only a 2 ft drop). Anyhow, it was on it's last legs anyhow I suppose. Had a look at repairing it and a replacement battery *might* do it but I can't be bothered messing with it just now.

Anyhow, placed an order for a Elemnt Bolt so it looks like I'm joining that crew. Wiggle price seemed best @ £176 with platinum.

Still rocking the Edge 500 :D Its great as long as you know where you are going!

Beautiful day today, only my FOURTH ride on the road all year!

I did 50km, average power was OK, but I have nothing above 300w and over 250w is a struggle hahaha, sat at home feeling like I've done at least 100! Onwards and upwards! :)

My bike has a few squeeks and rattles, needs a bit of TLC, should be moving in two weeks all things being well so all my workshop tools will arrive.

I do quite a lot of longer rides in unfamiliar territory so I think the dotted line routing would worry me a bit :p Vonhelmet does seem to manage pretty well with it though. Oh yeah, the other thing I couldn't live without is lazy BT automated uploading.

Ouch /re 4th ride of the year. That said, as unfit as you feel I bet you're still putting most of us to shame on here ;)

I'm using a 500 as well. Second hand to me a few years ago and still going strong.

This 810 is a warranty replacement after the mount broke on my last one. To be honest I've been close to jumping ship away from Garmin for quite a while due to all the minor niggles I and my friends have. I've heard so much good stuff about the Elemnt that it seemed an opportune time...

Lovely sunny day again today so headed out for just under 40 miles after work. Borrowed a friend's Garmin whilst I wait on my Elemnt Bolt to arrive. Didn't use a route as I "totally know these roads". That turned out as well as you can imagine

I've only been down artist's lane, when I went back to do the wizard late last year after our ToB jaunt. Is it any good going up it? Surface and visibility were a bit sketchy for a good descent, but I guess it might be better going up.

Descending is horrible yeah. Really gravelly, narrow and with blind turns. Ascending is quite fun though - normally I'll go up that and down the Wizard (or previously Oak Rd, before the "collarbone incident").

Back to "budget" carbon wheels, who are the favoured suppliers at the moment? eBay that is...

Take SoliD's advice above.

That said, I definitely have heard good things about ICAN when I was researching similar a year or so back.

Wahoo Elemnt Bolt arrived earlier. Haven't done much more than set up the data fields and install the out front mount as yet but initial impressions are good. Interface is like night and day compared to Garmin - so much better. Only gripe is that the route list (auto-sync from Strava is awesome btw) supports various sorting methods but not alphabetical

Still, so far, thumbs up. I'll post a proper comparison after a long ride at the end of the week.

CAAD12 looks awesome for that price but not sure it has guard mounts? If it doesn't I'd go for the GT Grade.

Friends of mine have the Arkose 3 and like it but it's a bit of a chunkster.

edit: Missed the 33/35 tyre req so my opinion doesn't take that into account :)

This looks like a bargain but it doesn't come with the adaptor to fit it anymore, nor do they sell one  How can you tell what size bottom bracket a particular tool can come with? They all say "Compatible with Shimano Hollowtech 2" but apparently that isn't the case.
I bought one only 2 or so weeks ago that came with an adaptor.
