Road Cycling

Looked nowhere near that cadence to me but ho-hum! I've never ridden a singlespeed, nevermind a fixie! ;)

Surely just beat them to the top of the hill and don't wait for them? :D
Yeah but christ don't they moan when I drop them! Tend to do 5 mile turns on the front and I'll usually do the one with most of the climbing! ;)

Doctor said , 2 weeks time i can get on the bike (or near 2 weeks when pain is low)
so fingers crossed for me guys !

next year im hoping to start competing with some of you ;)
Excellent news, will be good to see you clocking some miles up again! Oh and Bring it! :D ;)

I'm heading out for the local 'Thirsty Thursday' for the first time this evening, should be much easier than the chain gang I attempted 2 weeks ago! ;)

Bitter cold winds here again this morning, just below zero but no frost like earlier in the week. Think I've been lucky as not seen any ice, a few others have!

This hobby is expensive and I haven't even ridden the bike yet. BennyC managed to bully* me in to spending £400 on Wiggle. Got a Elemnt Bolt, definitely excessive given I'm just starting but I'm one of those that jumps in with two feet straight away, it will help me get into it and stick with it. But I have everything now that I'd need, next thing will be a turbo, but I will wait a while for that and then providing I'm still enjoying it in 6 or so months, I'll buy a decent one....then maybe Zwift :p

* didn't take much tbf, I was like a kid in a sweet shop.

So, this year I have put in three 100milers.

On each ride, garmin has stopped monitoring my heartrate monitor at around the 5 hour mark. My garmin cadence monitor (the new kind) drops at about 5h 30. I put in a new battery into the HR strap and the cadence monitor less than 4 months ago. If I reboot my garmin 800, the sensors are detected again. I slept with my HR strap on with my 920XT and it didn’t drop connection.

Is my Garmin 800 on the way out? Anyone else had this? or aware of how I can fix it? Other than this it still works fine but I don’t really want to replace it just yet but I really want the sensor functionality.

Factory Reset definitely worth a try, resolves so many issues that creep in over time.

If you've got a speed sensor with your bolt you could always use that to test out Zwift with a 'dumb' trainer.

Anybody have a Samsung Galaxy 7 and a Garmin 810?

The bluetooth keeps disconnecting after say 5-10 minutes and won't reconnect unless I turn it BT off and on again.
Very weird, my LG G3 never used to disconnect once connected.

I keep forgetting and end up at the end of the week when charging my Garmin that all my rides upload to Strava. :(

Keep BT turned off (on mobile) and then enable when you're ready to sync?

BT was the bane of my 810 and why it got replaced, I would regularly have to hard reset it to get it to sync, it got so bad eventually it'd take 2-3 resets after each ride to get it to sync a single activity. This obviously got quite tiresome with my 4 commutes per day... Tried all sorts and after a series of firmware resets & changes eventually ended up with the 810 freezing whenever ANYTHING connected to it on BT. So if I forgot BT was enabled on my mobile, went out riding, BAM, frozen & ride lost!

Garmin support were useless, as it was around 2 years old all they could offer me was £20 off the purchase of a 520. So I went with an ELEMNT!

Was going to sell the 810, hoping I'd get £150 for it. Failed miserably and saw lots of them selling for <£80 on Ebay so I've kept it. I use it on the turbo so I don't have to fiddle with sensors on my ELEMNT and if I go MTB'ing I'll use it then too.

Best time to grab a trainer is probably july/august time - Interbike & Eurobike are where most of the current year trainers get released so price drops just before then (and through summer really). Around the same time most Bike price drops are too...

Stop slacking and get out there! :D

It sounds very much like sensor/receiver power, what's the Garmin's battery level like on those longer rides? You could also record on something like ipbike on a smartphone to confirm that it's the Garmin, but I imagine most smartphones struggle with battery life over that period talking to sensors... Use the 920XT and compare the data afterwards? At least then you'd see if a sensor drop coincides with the garmin drop, or not.

They're coming...! ;)

Am I going to look stupid running Zipp tyres on non-zipp rims... :o

Cold & few spots on rain on the lunch ride home... 20 minutes later, blazing sunshine, warm winds & almost overheated on the ride back! WTF weather!

SDK^ Item 2..... :D
Lol :o

Random one Paul... My mate Matt with his Felt shared a picture on facebook with a LBS tagged (Veloshop) of it mounted on his Audi R8 V10 and Seasucker contacted him for some press shots. I don't have you on fb to tag you, but I wonder if they'd appreciate pics of your AR on the 911 with them (if you were interested)? :)
