Road Cycling

Where exactly is the max supposed to be? Wanting to move saddle forward by quite a bit. Pink lines are the outlines of the clamp, hard to see without the drawing.

I would say max line no further forward than the left edge of the clamp, so less than 5mm forward, if you need more then IMO you need to buy and inline post.

Whatever your views are about the cyclist riding primary before the incident, what that driver did is indefensible!

Just checked my saddle and the stop line for me is actually 1-2mm further forward than the right edge there. That's actually how the bike shop set it up when they did my bike fit.

Gents, recommendations for a very sturdy bottle cage for CX race I've got coming up! IE something that'll hold it in no matter what!

100% agree - but the cyclist doesn't help the situation by cycling in the middle of the road!

If it's particularly windy, a poor surface or I'm concerned that a driver behind is going to attempt a dangerous or close pass then I will cycle further out than usual.

I couldn't really care if it frustrates the driver behind, if you give me reason to believe that your impatience is going to put my life at risk then I will do everything I can to mitigate that possibility, until it is no longer required. I don't see it any differently to moving out through bollards or taking charge of a lane at a roundabout.

Not my brightest moment ..... I swapped to my summer bike two weeks ago and it felt a little odd. Noticed last night that when I gave it a full clean before it went to sleep for the winter, I must have put all the spacers under my stem in of slamming it like usual. Free speed on tomorrow's commute!

Ominous cloud cover here today, looks like it could rain any moment, I keep thinking I can see really fine rain dropping. Yet all the weather forecasts say it will be dry until at least ~1500, including Wunderground.

For now, I don't particularly want to introduce my new Cube to water, after ordering the bike I discovered the Cube Attain mudguards got pulled from the stores recently!

Out with BennyC for a coaching ride this morning to teach me some useful techniques. Some of the climbs....my god. I gained a huge amount of respect for anyone on a bike at a decent level now, those were very minor climbs but they damn near killed me towards the end, yet Ben just casually riding up them as if he was off to collect the Sunday paper

Is there a good website/app for planning cycle routes?

Strava's route planner is generally pretty good. For example you do a point between A and B it will use road popularity to plot your route based on where other cyclists have been.

Otherwise Ridewithgps pretty good. Garmin Connect sucks so don't bother.

Is that a premium strava feature?
