Road Cycling

My Garmin isn't talking to Strava either; only started happening the last 2 rides.

All the data is on Connect, but won't go onto Strava like it used to.

If I manually upload it skews the elevation and loses my HR data :(

These things happen from time to time, it will probs sort itself out in a day or so.

When are the new DA groupsets being released? Is it unrealistic to expect some southward movement on 9000 prices?

As N+1... I've now a TT conversion to do and want to strip the 105 off the new bike and upgrade it to DA. I've Ultegra Brifters to come off the bike being converted which I'm happy to use so really I just need a chainset, derailleurs and brakes.

Unfortunately they new bike doesn't have direct mount brakes, I'll just have to just descend slower :p ... but I find £170-180 a pair hard to swallow when I'm sure performance over the Ultegra brakes isn't twice as good but they are twice the price.

Logically Ultegra brakes makes more sense but part of me just wants lots of blingy DA goodness...

But. But full group set and all that!:o

Not really in a rush, if a second hand crankset comes up I'll be all over it.

Might leave that till last, get the rest first. Will spread it out over a few weeks, aiming for maybe $750 all up. I need everything apart from frame & wheels.

Saddle worries me the most.

Lol...I know what you mean. I'd feel a little bit dirty mixing them up too :p

Could look at Rotor or one of the main other options?

Seen this? Kind of old now but I imagine some of it holds true still:

Headset 'dust covers/spacers/caps', effectively the bottom spacer, are these a universal size? (Presumably not as frame head tubes aren't all the same in width/circumference and bearing size.)

I know the bearing size (1-1/8" top, 1.5" bottom) but I'm not sure if this relates?

I won't be changing the bearings/cups as they're new just that all the finishing kit is white and I plan to change it to black.

What happened to madindehead?

He wasn't the guy who crashed into a tree?:p

Thankfully I am safe!

My mini reviews of the 100:

Did I enjoy it? Bits of it.

Would I do it again? Probably not.

I don't pretend to be the best at riding in a group, but some people were just plain impatient/dangerous. For example, coming through Kingston, I went to move left (yes, I should have double checked) and some guy came flying past me. When there was space on the right. Some chain gangs were maybe not as clear as they could have been passing on the right, but a lot of people could have moved left a LOT sooner than they did, especially on climbs and descents. Lots of people being impatient when we passed a crash, and just trying to weave through people who were walking.

We got held up for around 1.5 hours because of a really serious crash around mile 39. I must admit, I missed Leith Hill and Box Hill: When I got to the base of Leith Hill, someone said there had already been 3 crashes. The number of crashes just really put me off.

Ah, not just me then.

My ride from this morning hasn't showed up but I just sync'd my Forerunner and my Friday night run was there in seconds.
