Road Cycling

I've been idly wondering to myself this morning about the possibility of trying to build a 6.8kg bike for £680. Obviously it'd need a lot of savvy second hand shopping, but it keeps me from getting too bored.

1. Buy second-hand moped for £680.
2. Push cyclist off 6.8kg carbon steed.
3. ????
4. Profit!

Hahahaha!

I reckon starting from something like a planet x nanolight it might be doable. Low spoke kinlin XR200 rims on skinny Taiwanese hubs, older high-end groupset and so on on....

Spending that money on a PM, periodised training plan and losing a little weight would make you faster in every aspect :)

If I was racing or had any intention of it, that'd surely be the way to go. As it is, I'm a recreational rider who enjoys spannering and tinkering as much as pedalling. I don't even strava a lot of my riding...

Heh. I'm the same, though I do manically Strava everything. I like the building and the fixing and all sorts as well as the riding. I can totally see the appeal of your £680/6.8kg challenge.

I know a guy who is insanely fast and properly quick on the climbs. If he actually trained and raced he'd be brilliant. He doesn't though, because he can't be arsed. He's just happy riding fast.

My wahoo elemnt arrived, it looks pretty smart. I think I'll leave it until tomorrow to change all my mounts over, can't be bothered tonight.

Question... if I have Bluetooth on can it upload my rides via my phone? It says it can do it via wifi but can it do it this way?

Yup, works by BT.

Not sure where I was victim blaming? It's retarded to use a £10 lock on a bike worth at least £3000.

It's a Canyon Aeroad.
