Driving to work sucks as well. Fortunately I've not had to do that for a while.Ugh...public transport again today. What a world.
Can't say any aspect of being on the bus is better than bike, even though it was raining when I left for work.

Like a flag for terrible riders round here that kit.
I nearly joined because my office isn't far from the Soho shop, it kinda made some sense for the free coffee, but I doubt I'd ever go on a club ride!
It's a pretty cool jersey for sure, but the thumping douchenozzlery associated with getting hold of it - https://www.granfondo.com/rapha/517742/the-rapha-cycling-club-what-is-it-and-should-you-join - makes it one of the few things less cool than being seen in public in a strava jersey.
That is some serious ********.
Yep, borderline repulsive.
Super windy out there today!
I went out with a view to get a good time on a loop just up from my Grans. https://www.strava.com/segments/10122910
Realised I was on to plums as soon as I left due to the brutal headwind that would hit on the climb. Went on to try a segment I already had as I thought I'd have a tail wind but it was more of a crosswind.
Took 1 second off it so not too bad, got slowed up at two points by cars so there is room for improvement. https://www.strava.com/activities/1081431767/segments/26608024491
Hope I've kept some legs for later on
So I saw rain drops as I was heading out but thought **** it, it'll clear.
It didn't! Only 2 of us for a bit then a 3rd guy joined and the rain was hammering it down.
Sick of this crap weather
Looks good, love the frame blue but not the tyre blue, I'd have gone for Grey/white. I think the Mitchelin blue tyres are darker than the Schwalbe (for future reference!)Got my track bike finished:
Stem is in safe mode atm
It was the width I was after, at 23mm's you'll notice a huge difference moving to 25mm's and/or running 90 PSI. You won't sacrifice any real speed and gain comfort. Some of the rolling resistance tests rank 25mm's as faster than 23mm's.Roady.. they're Schwalbe Lugano 23 tyres.
Lifeline tubes are pretty good! I used to buy in bulk from innertubeshop.com (£1.20 each!) but their prices are now similar to Wiggles in deals. Look for multi-deals, any tubes you can get for under £3 are generally a good deal these days with the pound tanked against the euro.Hello again guys, I'm in need to buy 5 inner tubes for my road bike, I'm guessing wiggled would be the best bet, tubes are all the same right ?
Also a really good portable pump that's worth the money, links appreciated!
imgur to give yourself a link. I used to use dropbox but they removed public folders. Basically anything which gives you a direct link to the image.Shall have a look into it, also, how does one embeed photos in a comment here ?
I know, it's pretty steep. You get an ok discount on the kit but I'd want a discount on non-club kit as well as more incentives. The kit looks good and around here it's 'rare' enough (only 1 guy I know of wears it) that it stands out. Quite a lot of Rapha worn around the clubs here, almost as many as Castelli. Not many random riders wearing it. It's quite a 'loud' design compared to most usual Rapha understated designs.I desperately want the Rapha club kit but no way am I paying £135 to join the club and then a further £260 on the kit
Don't mind just the kit cost but the club fee brings it to nearly £400 for a jersey and shorts
Nope. Still Santini isn't it? My only experience with Santini kit was club kit, for the price totally not worth it! Shorts a bad fit for £95 (returned) & the zip pretty much gave up on the £80 gilet within 2-3 wears. Actually kept the gilet intending to swap the zip out at some point. Fit is very long in the torso on me.While we're at it, who'd pay £120 for the GCN jersey?
Not me. I am debating whether or not to spend £39 on an Um Bongo one. But I really wants it.While we're at it, who'd pay £120 for the GCN jersey?

GCN kit is Assos now, is it not?...
Friend of mine joined and has turned into a prize prat. I can understand if you do a lot of travelling and utilise the bikes/cafes etc, but other than that I can't see what most people get out of it apart from the lording over everyone, even though most of them are complete chumps on a bike in my experience.
The bike shop have been in touch, they said that it's the bottom bearing and the fact it's never had any grease in it from new. So they've stripped it, cleaned it, greased it and put it back together. £17.99.Couldn't find anything wrong with my bike but the noise is getting worse. I rang my local bike shop and they're going to take a look at it this afternoon for me. Hopefully they can fix it before the end of the day, if not I'll be getting the bus home and collecting the bike tomorrow. I normally take the bus on a Friday to bring in fresh clothes for the following week and so I can go to the pub after work so not too bad.
Need to find some absolute beast and put him in white shorts and a helmet with a visor on a bike with clip on TT bars and have him follow them round and destroy them on every climb. No clip on TT bars? Well that's it, I'm not going to join now, then!
Ahh, my mistake. At least that justifies the high price!GCN kit is Assos now, is it not?...
Haha, Rapha Cafe Chatters?Bizarre, takes a certain type of person to join a £400 club though. Yet to come across a member with any notable talent. They don't have the nickname of rapha chatting club round here for nothing.
Result! Although I hope that means the bearing(s) were fine and unworn (it's relatively cheap to replace them, but not that cheap!).The bike shop have been in touch, they said that it's the bottom bearing and the fact it's never had any grease in it from new. I nominate Thomas.Need to find some absolute beast and put him in white shorts and a helmet with a visor on a bike with clip on TT bars and have him follow them round and destroy them on every climb.
Ouchie! Flag it? Where abouts (link)?Had a nice ride this morning. Did a couple of cat4's I'd not done before, quite surprised the 1 isn't listed as hazardous on strava as the segment crosses the busy Worcester to Hereford road.
