Road Cycling

How did you do that segment at 28.3mph?

I know the guy who holds the KOM for the full Sawyers uphill (Michael Krukov), he is a powerful rider and had to do it with with a strong tailwind boost to take it!

Span my legs quickly?:D

I did have a fair tailwind to be fair but nothing super crazy. Think I had got 7th with a few seconds off KOM after dropping a mate a couple of weeks before (smashed a social ride).

You should start racing! I'm considering joining a club to try my hand at it later this year but it depends on whether I get a London marathon entry and become a #runner again.

I was thinking Paceline RT but based on riding with Thom once I don't think I'm fast enough!:o

Sorry Roady, me slacking 3,420.4 mi so far this year :p
FFS! Yeah ok, but I only did 4200 miles last year so my mileage has increased quite a bit. You did close to 7000 last year so you're below par! ;)

Lazy SOB's... 5,218 miles and not a single commute :p
Wow, just think of the possible base miles & possible training you're missing out on...! ;)

Just ride some social club rides to find a club you like riding with and then see how their training rides go/operate. For a club like Paceline you're better coming across from another 'race' club as their expectations are probably quite high to start with! Good club though, usually ask the racers I know how Paceline do in the same races when chatting, one day Thomas might even get his name mentioned, for now it only seems to be Pat, lol ;)

Heh. Maybe at some point. I'm not too keen on the crashing aspect of races! My sprint is pretty weak too really.

I would have probably given the RP TT a go earlier in the year but I was out in the US for the first one and only arrived back a few days before the second.

Hate to say it but most cycling clubs can be quite snobbish to outsiders and I doubt you'd get straight into a 'race club' without knowing and riding with some members first. Some do introductory rides but I know the couple around here don't tend to as they run weekly/biweekly social rides and use those for it instead.

Last thing I want is more time in the saddle! Two training sessions in the week and some tempo work & an endurance ride at the weekend does me nicely for now and is still enjoyable.

My goal for the year was to exceed last year (5,184) which I've done already

Bah. Just lost a KOM to someone that rode it in 2015. Who uploads a ride that late? Data looks potentially a bit fishy though.
I was quite happy with 1st/91000 including pros :D
Checked the elapsed time on his ride? It was left paused/garmin off & powered back on before being finished, looks almost as if he did a turbo ride at home at the end? Mad GPS data at the end, very similar to what a turbo session looks like anyway. Not to mention the obvious jump! Here is his actual RP ride, there's a long pause soon after before the fast journey towards home which it then looks like the unit lost signal/was switched off, before being switched back on, ~80 hours later.

Strava Sherlock reporting in!

Just continually flag it until it dies. Flaggers always win!

Besides, I'm sure once I "ride off the front at 30mph" on a social ride that'll show em who's boss, right Jonny?
Don't forget to drop them all on a climb that 'everyone races'. ;)

Showoff! Although, no point making goals unless you complete/smash them! ;)

Someone else seems to have flagged his ride so I do again now :)

Ride data certainly looks a little dodgy - how on earth you can accidentally leave it recording for 4 days I don't really see...

There's nothing wrong with the data. It's just 2 rides recorded 4 days apart and uploaded as 1 files (ie. without resetting the timer between them), it's not 4 days of continuous recording. It disappears whilst it's flagged but it'll get unflagged by strava mods and you'll lose that KOM again.

Agreed, nothing wrong with the data as such, other than the fact it's two rides and some of it in a vehicle. Maybe they'll unflag, but just reflag it as 'Bad GPS data', or that 'activity was in a vehicle' and the uploader will next have a prompt to 'trim'/crop the ride (and a link which takes you to the Strava tool) before it gets unflagged. Have had it a couple of times myself.

In that case the rider deserves to be flagged for being dumb ;)

The rest of the ride looks fine, yeah.
