Tour of Britain passing through on sunday, have made plans to ride out to '
British Camp' next to Malvern which is the first KOM on the route, think it's possibly the main/hardest climb they'll do early in the stage.
Rode out to British Camp, couple of brief showers and lots of wind but otherwise good weather. With the winds around a couple of us did big turns on the front but I found enough in the tank for an effort up British Camp.
I was 14th of 65 on the day I'm pleased with, only the first time I've been up there so plenty of time to be made up!

We got there around 10.45ish a good hour before they where expected to come through. There where quite a few people around (it's a busy place for walkers anyway) and the cafe there was doing a roaring trade in bacon sandwiches & coffees! Suitably refuelled we milled around aimlessly chatting to others - we had figured to head further down the climb to catch them but as they were only just setting up the barriers we set ourselves up a few feet from the KOM with a curb to stand on right on the barrier. As time went on there was a rainshower or two, more and more people starting to flood the place. Around 11.40 (with the earliest estimated rider ETA being 11.44) the road was still open, there where tractors hauling potatoes and we'd started to cheer them (and any riders) coming through. Some old dear stalled her car on the KOM marker just as some of the lead outriders where coming through, the Police rider behind her was pretty irate and we where prepared to push her out of the way, thankfully she got it started and moved off! The riders didn't come through until 12:05, a little later than planned. As it was the KOM the field was pretty split, a number of QSF & Movistar at the front with most of Sky in the group. A couple of cars after them and then the second group of riders with a few stragglers amongst the cars including Cav (who got by far the biggest cheer) who was the last rider through.
We got ready to leave, around 15 minutes afterwards and nearly everyone had gone! They where packing the barriers away and I'd judge by 12:40 there would be nothing left. Impressive! The whole setup, race through and tear down taking less than 1.5 hours. The road only closed for 25-30 minutes as cars where allowed out less than 5 minutes after the race came though (and them running a few minutes later than planned). The race descended the route we'd climbed and we followed much of the route back towards Hereford, there was no sign at the various points I know people where spectating, as if nothing had happened!

Is anyone using a left only pwm? Given that I know my right leg produces more power would I be better off getting a full r/l pwm?
I bought my C1 because it was both legs with an estimated L/R balance. I had a fear I was horribly unbalanced but even estimated I'm fairly equal only slightly favouring my right leg. It might be worth doing a gym session or a wattbike ride to determine your actual balance rather than worry about it too much, or letting it determine your purchase decisions! Peace of mind too!
Witnessed the fitness this morning
Great pic of G!
I've a couple of photos (best are on my Strava rides) but I also have a 300mb video of them coming through. May upload it if someone has a recommendation other than YT (which will ruin the quality)...
Good riding, well done!
It's a learning process. You understand what you did wrong, that's knowledge that'll stand you well going forward. My first couple were pretty under-tensioned, resulting in them slowly starting to undo themselves over 500 miles or so
Haha yup, I have a feeling I've over tensioned them if anything so will see how it fares. I know I'm going to be changing the hub in future so not an issue really. Can get it better then!
