Broken Fit files? Where do I go from here?

Was a mighty impressive 20ish miles at 19mph average....

Edit: chopped off the last 30 seconds and it seems ok now.

And probably make her wait until the ride was named and a weather update included before driving her to the hospital.
:D

Had a peek in Aldi this evening. The most interesting thing was a 'Velo' beer really but I did pick up some GT85, a pair of merino socks and a set of merino arm warmers to add to the two pairs of PX ones I already have.

Flake6 arrived. It's gigantic!

It's a hill weight training device that records your pain! :D

Are the mounts really just flimsy vecro?

I'm half tempted, but also wary, the 8GB card apparently records 1 hour; it has loop recording; full charge lasts ~6 hours; reports of poor mounting means it could fall and break going over a pothole.

And the critical thing, to help prosecute dangerous actions by others... No chance of getting reg plate details in dark, dubious about getting face of driver even in day.

Review on the Aldi site suggests it has no loop recording. I've not tested it yet.

Flimsy velcro mounts - yes. It's rare I do a ride less than an hour so I'd certainly need to upgrade the card anyway.

AVI files.. bit annoying for mac users but I think this might be a problem with the Fly6 too.

The Fly6 is equally humongous if you look at the images on the web.

I looked at it, but I'd want it on my commuter so I'd need some way to mount it on my rack and it doesn't come with a suitable mount. The real one doesn't either. Lame. You can get a 3D printer hacky one, but I'm not sure I fancy chancing that.

Comments on road.cc say the Aldi one does loop. Facebook comments for road.cc have some grief from the owners of Cycliq saying Aldi aren't paying for licensing or anything and grumbling about them ripping them off...

Just had a little go mounting it to the bike... certainly seems very flimsy and no real way to get a super solid mount. I feel like it will slide around with bumps etc :/

Fair bit more info here inc videos: https://www.cyclechat.net/threads/aldi-rear-camera.224217/page-3

Another note on the Aldi stuff: Merino top... Sizes available: M, L, XL. Did they decide there aren't any small people in the UK?

I'm not exactly small but I'd imagine the medium would be a bit baggy for me.

Really I don't think the quality is too amazing. It's probably fine on a sunny day (without the sun directly into the lens) but otherwise it's pretty noisy. I guess acceptable for £40 though. More of an issue for me is the mounting system, the velcro won't go tight enough to really hold it securely for me. I have a 27.2mm seatpost so perhaps it's better on a wider seatpost. I might try some zip ties but that would make taking it off for charging a pain!

Had a blowout at speed yesterday, lost control immediately and went down quite hard. Currently waiting in the hospital for plastic surgery on my elbow :/
The bike is fine :)

Sorry to hear that Budge. Wish you a speedy recovery.

I cycled to work everyday last week for the first time since moving jobs in March. 16.5 miles each way. Feeling a little bit tired today! Thankfully it was Mon-Weds and Fri-Sat so being off Thursday helped me recover.

For those who have the Gabba jersey or anything similar how often do you wash them with it being more of a jacket/technical fabric? I only wear summer jerseys once and then cycle back home in a fresh one. They're cheap so have plenty. Don't really fancy buying more than one Gabba to be honest.

You shouldn't need to wash it very regularly at all, unless you're super sweaty and don't where any kind of base layer.

Sounds good to me then. Always wear a base layer. Just don't fancy washing it as much as everything else. Two pairs of bib shorts / socks / jerseys everyday soon adds up.

Having to pack spares too now with the weather being a bit more unpredictable. Finding the mornings are getting chilly but then it's warm in the evening at the moment.
