Road Cycling

Right, after smashing up four spokes in as many weeks I think it's time to upgrade my wheels... current using some Synco's that came with my Scott Speedster.

Budget £200, max. But less would be a bonus :D

Is there anything obvious in that price range?

Thanks.

Well that was quick! Going to send most back tomorrow. Going to keep one jersey, one set of shorts and probably the light blue softshell.

Another metric ton today, a few of us riding out with our mate who is going around the coast of the UK over the next few weeks.

Quite happy with my 300 road miles and 100 MTB in the 2 weeks off work.

I used to think you were my friend. :o:p

Hahaha love that! *steals* :D
Am I the only one here who doesn't?! :o

It's feeling really warm out there guys, hot winds and oppressive sunshine! Wish we'd had more of it earlier in the 'summer'! It might even reach 30 degrees here next week! (ssssh Berger, that's hot for the UK!) ;)

It's hot most places & I wouldn't choose to ride in it unless I had no choice! :p

Off for a slow paced 100 miler to keep the legs spinning. If any Manchester people fancy something slow I'll be near Tatton Park shortly after 10 :)

What's the benefit of the higher priced gear?

All of my bib shorts are from Aliexpress (about 12 quid each), and jerseys for about 20 or under.

All have been fine, no quality issues, comfortable enough - what would I get from paying more?

Better quality materials, better fit and a proper pad for you bum.
If you're only riding around 30 miles occasionally then the cheap stuff is fine. Increase your mileage regularly and the more expensive clothing shines through.

Plonked another climb/drag on the end of todays club social, so 75 miles with a 17.6mph average I thought I'd have a little 'sprint' and see if I could crack four figures because totally fresh right...

Would have totally had it if I were not actually pulling a wheelie with each downstroke  Need to get my body further forward I think... 949 for 5s, 973 for 1s @78kg.

Also calorie deficit etc etc :p
