Road Cycling

Rapha have added some more lines to the sale it seems so I'll grab some jerseys to try for size, though I'll be visiting a store this weekend in Manchester but free returns...

5'10 - 175lbs - with an athletic build 42"/16" chest/arms (used to lift y0). Figuring a large based on their sizing guide but if anyone of similar proportions can confirm that'd be great :)

Got a long torso and short legs but never usually struggle for length and their jerseys look quite long generally anyway...

I would probably agree. Large for you.

I'm 6ft 3, 180lbs and 40 in chest. So Large usually fits in the chest, but lengthwise they are usually too short for me. XL is longer but too baggy.

Quite high I'd think.

That or just order them again and return the first pair. (Read, send back the second pair to actually arrive but RMA the first order and keep the first pair to arrive, so you pay the lower price :))

I agree - contact customer services, they should just refund you the difference or as above - get another pair and return the others!

Thanks, what's the fit in the arm/cuff like? I know that Pro/Aero jerseys will of course be tighter but some Castelli stuff is too restrictive :(

hard to say - just order the various sizes you want - good returns process etc. I've just ordered two long sleeve tops in Large so will see what they are like and return them if no good size wise.

Kudos & chapeau in advance to OMS who completed his 3 ascents of Ventoux today. Insane ride - 85 miles & 14000ft of climbing! Machine! :o

Want a write-up of it please (for someone who's never ridden it but wants to at some point)!

Missed out, thanks anyway :o will see what they have in store on Saturday instead :)

Unless OMS flew out there specifically.

Yeah I emailed them but their CS is always so slow to respond. Kinda don't want to order four sets of the same shoes as (two different sizes) as I'm already terrible at getting round to returning stuff to Wiggle with their 365 day returns! :p

Is it comfortable for long rides? I know it's not exactly an endurance bike... but the main issue I have with mine is how much vibration is translated from the road to my ringpiece.

Im waiting for the Rapha Team Sky blow out sale at the end of the year. Sure to be some huge discounts there.

On their current sale. That brevet jersey is awesome. I bought one with the 20% offer they had before and have to say its excellent. The wind stopping bit is great.

Anyone with a Canyon Aeroad... how is it?

I have the first version, it's over 4 years old now! There's been a couple of revisions since that original version now.

It's a very nice bike though. Easy to ride fast and stable too. I only use mine for racing so I have it set up quite aggressive and that means it's not particularly comfortable. The paint chips off quite easily and it's white paint over black carbon so it's very noticeable. It does get a hard time in races though and has lots of battle scars.

Longest ive done so far is 70 i think and my ring of peace was fine. I had trouble with some groin pain at first but that was due to saddle. I put my old one on and it went straight away.

Put it this way, the bike is so good that when i got the Canyon sale email the other day i was thinking of buying another one:D

It was either Canyon Aeroad or Pinarello F8 for me, i tried the F8 in Mallorca. I ordered the Canyon when i got back because of their money back guarantee i was just going to return it but it was so good i decided to keep it.

Ventoux triple done!

Ended up being a really enjoyable ride. Took it steady on the bedoin ascent as I knew the forest section was tough. I then got really into the second ascent and despite having a huge amount of fatigue from last week in the alps ended up around 4w/kg for the entire climb. The final ascent from Sault was very steady until it joins chalet reynard so wasn't a big issue

It's surprising how many people do it - I met one guy at the top who had just completed his second ascent but had started at 4am! Weather really was perfect - no jacket required on the descent as it was warm and still. It was around 30C but I seem to do well in the heat so it didn't bother me too much

Went for one of those. Wanted one for ages but baulked at full price. Can't complain for half that.
