Robot Wars - gone for good?

Hypno Disc- Nuff said :p

It died a death really when it moved from BBC2 to Five.

And it was good to see Chaos 2 totally destroyed in the last series - litterally there was hardly anything left of it

I only watch BBC2 for Top Gear now.... I remember looking forward to friday nights (6pm), The Simpsons, Robot Wars, Malcolm in the Middle...

Shame it all died.

Thats exactly what i did.i use to get annoyed when the snooker was on and they replaced it,i was almost in tears.funny tho i love snooker now :p

Chaos 2 was the best!!! so was Razor and Suicidal Tendacies(SP?i dont know why i liked it,it was so plain)

Was the driver of Chaos 2 really a man?i still cant work out till this if he/she was a male or not :o :(

Roadblock from the original series was quite cool, Razor and Mortis were my next favourites until Hypnodisk. Shame Sir Killalot was introduced and the format was americanized. :(

Memories :(

I saw it on channel five a while ago. When Craig said welcome to the 15th war i'd realised how long it had gone on for.

I liked Razor Cassius and hypnodisk. Cassius was the daddy though was made by some special effects guy, its the one that had the first hydrolic flipper and flipped its self out of the pit.

Ill never forget hypodisks first appearance .. literally tore ALL the armour off one of the robots, was genuinely the funniest thing id seen !

It went to the final that year and got beat by Chaos 2. I couldve cried :)

Razor always got itself stuck. For some reason that always annoyed me.
yeah that annoyed me too.

anyone remember the world championship or something when hypnodisc was against this german robot that was made of wood or something. hypnodisc shredded it but the splinters finally immobolised(sp?) the disc as it jammed it.
that was funny.

I liked Razer for it's slick design, and also because it was innovative and well thought out but the stupid tornado team with their rubbish "add ons" aka the massive-anti-pit-cage-add-on really ruined it for me..

How sad that they had to stoop so low to beat Razer

I have fond memories of Hypnodisks first appearance. I thought it would never last, but the carnage! I'd never seen robots ripped to shreds like that before. Was the disk made out of concrete or something? It certainly had a lot of weight behind it.

Just heavy metal and the little fins that were welded on would create the "carnage" :D

The best IMO were Hypno-Disc, Razer, Tornado, Behemoth and Chaos. There was also one that only made one appearance: anyone remember the one with the blade on the front that shot round really quick and sliced stuff? The demonstrated it on a watermelon and it sliced it clean in half.

I think the disk weighed about 20 kilos, coupled with a powerful motor driving it =

still remember the memories of Chaos 2 owning everyone and then went on to attack Matilda and flipping it :p

Yeah.. between that Robot and Chaos 2 I remember having tears in my eyes I was laughing so hard when they ripped the house robots to shreds and otherwise humiliated them.
