Robot Wars returning to BBC2!

Ha, well done to the chap. He clearly wanted it. It was a close call as to who won. The flippers don’t have much destructive power, it’s either out or nothing. Carbide was knackered by the end though.

Do Carbide use more than one motor for their weapon? They seemed to lose a lot of power after Carbide started smoking.

Motor may have been burning out, not enough to kill it, but greatly reducing it performance.

Eruption was in the best functioning order at the end so deserved to win. Cosmetic damage is just that.

The motor was probably overheating so they killed the power to the weapon for while to let it cool down.

I have to say that result was a travesty. Although Eruption was the aggressor latter on Carbide caused far greater damage to Eruption.

...but didn't actually do much other than cosmetics. Eruption damaged one of Carbide's wheels and hindered maneuverability (though not by much).

Also remember there are 3 categories they're judged on, not just damage.

Still, it was pretty much 50/50 and you could argue either way fairly easily.

A brilliant episode and a great way to finish a really good series.
