** ROG SEXYNESS: THREE NEW ROG SWIFTS COMING SOON!! **

I genuinely think you should consider some some sort of monitor pre check for premium gaming monitors.
People are even willing to pay an extra fee for the possibility. I know backlight bleed and IPS glow, which are 2 separate things, can be somewhat subjective, but At the very least it could be done for dead or faulty pixels. Takes about 2 minutes to run a pixel check. And dead or falulty pixels are not a subjective thing.

I for one will not buy a new high end gaming monitor at the moment, even though I'm building a new gaming rig and have the cash. The ridiculously high chances of getting a faulty unit, and then having to argue with retailers just puts me off 100%. I just cannot be bothered, and I suspect loads of people on these forums and elsewhere feel very very similar.

You're losing a lot of potential money in sales and ocuk *could* be the pioneer of a great new service.

Ive got the cash and was going to buy the Acer - but not after reading all the issues.

Got the same dilemma with all the new monitors being released.

I don't fancy going through all the chew of problems

My 24" monitor is fine - but I would love to upgrade it and have the money to spend on one of the new ultra wides.....

+1 ☺

I have the money ready but not happy parting with that hard earned cash without some guarantee I am not going to possibly receive a faulty gaming monitor.

I have to agree with Gibbo... dead/stuck pixels are rare on branded monitors. I can't remember the last time I saw one.

Recently I have bought 2 x Dell P2715Q, Acer S277HK, LG 34UM95 and various low end LG and Samsung display's for office use and all are fine with no dead pixels.

+2 :)

^^^ This, while I would love a 34" 21:9 screen I just don't have the time/inclination to be "QA" for the manufacturer.

Maybe look in this ocUK forum below and see there are still ongoing pixel problems. ☺

You should also tell them that the replacement monitors are refurb/used units, not brand new monitors.

And that there is no form of dead pixel guarantee on these swap out monitors.

I am on RoG Swift #3. It has a dead pixel. Nothing I can do about it as OcUK's guarantee only covered the first monitor.

In fact, if you have a replacement, you are probably more likely to get one with a dead pixel. Where do you think all OcUK's returns with dead pixels go?

I love my swift but I don't think I'd spend £700ish on a monitor again as there is no way to be sure I won't be stuck with a dud.

I know it's difficult, as we are all shiny gear whores on here, but we need to send a message to the manufacturers, and retailers, by simply not buying these monitors until Quality Control is properly sorted out.

Its the same when you buy anything at launch. Cars ect. If you really want assurances your better off waiting for a few batches to go out so you can make an educated guess and frankly if it has a problems send it straight back within two weeks.

I upgraded my pc back in march. Since then I've tried a total of 8 monitors. 4 XB270HU's and 4 ROG Swifts. Every single one had an issue of some sort bad IPS glow, dirt in screen, dead pixels, vertical lines etc.

After wasting nearly £150+ on return shipping between them I'm beyond fed up with it and I'm now waiting these new panels to arrive.

The level of QC on the current "high end" monitors is awful. Fingers crossed this will not be the case this time round. You are always gonna get the odd faulty panel but not to the level I've experienced.

Considering that they have the same panel manufacturer i am afraid will problably see the same problems maybe not on the same scale but still.Fingers crossed though.

Do a search on this thread for Dead/Stuck Pixels. Few pics too.

Acer XB270HU - Worlds First IPS, 1440p, 144hz, Gsync

and here was mine

^^^ This. There is no chance I'm going to buy 3 of these for triple setup without a rock solid guarantee. if no guarantee I'll skip high end this time around, dont want to be stuck and gutted with £2K worth of panels I have issue with.

Sounds like you've all condemned the ROG's to having dead/stuck pixels before they have even hit the 'shelves', I'm amazed.

More a legitimate concern over dropping large sums on a monitor and looking for a reassurance the customer will be happy with expensive purchase, especially given the state of monitor QA reported in these very forums.

I second others for a better warranty service and clarity.

The asus ips f-sync version I had was QC checked twice by Asus and they still sent it out with more than 5 dead pixels and dirt behind the screen.

OCUK should work something out with Asus like they have with the TN version regarding pixel faults, even put it as a seperate monitor listing for the service with a price increase, I'd glady give my money to Ocuk if they did that.
