** ROG SEXYNESS: THREE NEW ROG SWIFTS COMING SOON!! **

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18570584

Really?? You looked in the above? Seem to pixel issues for some

That thread seems to be full of various problems though. Which makes me want to stay away from these new monitors too...

I am just saying with the maybe 20 or so monitors I have bought and setup/used in the last year I have not seen a single dead pixel. If we include mobile phone displays too then I can add a lot to that list!

Maybe I am really lucky and I should buy a lottery ticket then :D

Do a search on this thread for Dead/Stuck Pixels. Few pics too.

Acer XB270HU - Worlds First IPS, 1440p, 144hz, Gsync

and here was mine

Oh dear, that's nasty :(

I wonder how many good panels they've shipped though. It would be nice to know the percentage of happy customers vs how many have RMA'd. I'm still tempted by one. I suppose that makes be gullible? I have some kind of magpie disorder.

Sounds like you've all condemned the ROG's to having dead/stuck pixels before they have even hit the 'shelves', I'm amazed.

I think it's just that Asus have crossed the mark on pricing this time (magical 1k), and people probably deserve some kind of premium 'guarantee' on this product.

Asus being Asus though, you won't get it :D lol

Yeah, they could make so much money and not deal with so many RMAs, just that £1200 needs monitor checking, just think of how many more sales you will get Gibbo, other r******** do it, so Overclockers should do it.

Its like has been said before you dont get to hear about the good monitors people get just the bad. That being said its not nice when you are one of the people who get a problematic monitor and to let others know especially with monitors it is a kind of service.

I shall also reiterate what has been said before you dont get lately, if for a while (apart from the Gigabyte 780/7870 issues) people complaining about GPU's having problematic issues like you do with monitors. Not over poor QA and screen quality. Last one I can remember is the MSI fan leaking issue but that was quite minor.

Also we are not writing off these new ROG monitors with dead pixel suggestions its mainly Acer monitors that were being commented on for being bad in this way.

These announced in this thread have a better chance of being exceptional despite the price simply because they are ASUS ROG and not Acer.

I get that, but you still have 2 guarantee's of your own. 1. Pay using credit card and 2. your distance selling guarantee

I think the issue is the shipping. Many couriers don't offer insurance on monitors or charge a fortune for it so playing the panel lottery will be expensive returning under DSR.

Still doesnt overcome the disappointment though. Or the hassle of returning. When you buy a monitor there should be no nagging thought in your mind hoping you get a good one. OCUK/Gibbo when they get a new high end GPU do a preview/review of sorts with benchmarks etc etc. Ideally they should do something similiar with premium monitors too. Not every one but particular those they raise high profiles of like the ROG's and the X34.

Well, it depends how you look at it... personally I would argue Acer have done more damage than it may appear on the surface, damaging customer confidence SO badly to the point that other manufacturers can now charge a huge premium for a product and get away with it, simply because it works! I don't think Asus or anyone else should be congratulated or their products deemed 'exceptional' just because they don't have a high % chance of faults, nor should we have to pay extra for that 'privilege'. It should be the norm and we should be paying fair good value.

Nah, it's just Asus being Asus imo. If it really WAS hiked they'd probably charge £1500+ !!!:eek::eek:

Yeah this is a service I love that another online retailer uses, I wouldn't touch one of these high end monitors without it tbh. So unless OCUK start doing it I will be taking my money elsewhere as I don't have the time, patience or sanity to be sending back faulty panels continuously.

Thinking about the 165hz monitor or the 34 inch super-wide, Either one of those or a new GPU.

I have a GTX 780 atm and a BenQ XL2420T rev 2

Maybe i'll go for the monitor as I watch a lot of TV shows etc so the IPS would be great for it, But the quality is a little scary on these for the price of them!

Someone will always take the plunge and buy it imediatly.Just wait for the people reviews and then make a decision.I personaly after getting trough 5 ROG Swift and 2 months of monitor roullette i wont do it unless i see at least 100 buyers reviews.

What happened to the ASUS PG348Q, it is not on the website now.

Asus ask us to take it down until they can give a better ETA for the product as they fear the delivery might slip into 2016. Once they have a more accurate ETA they will allow us to re-list. :)
