Pleasantly surprised they're not charging for it. Been looking to try this game again, waiting for this new edition to come out seems perfect now.

I think its a very good game now that's including some mods I have installed. In fact last week was my first time I completed a campaign (road to gaul) now im starting a grand campaign and I can see myself finishing that too

I didn't get this game because of all the horror stories surrounding it, is this game stable to play now? Any cheapest version available?

Hasn't crashed on me once recently. The AI has been hugely improved. The time between each turn massively reduced. It stands up there as a very good TW game now.

Ai now becoming unforgiving in normal mode after last patch. Starting the game fresh, the Veneti and the Eustrucian League have rapidly amassed huge armies of spearmen and swordsmen with some light javelins. My Roman troops are getting a good old hammering from the spearmen charges/ flanked by swordsmen and fired upon by javelins/pelstats.
