I held off on this to hear some others opinions and it doesn't seem like the game turned out anywhere near the hype it received.

I'll wait for it in a sale I think.

Mine automatically went extreme as well (4670k + 7950), I have yet to play a battle though so I don't know what the frame rate is.

My rig is a 2500K at 4.2 and a 7950, so no slouch but nothing great either.

The battle was the tutorial one, the units themselves seemed to take forever to get intoplace, and that was even at *8 speed

Can't say I like the battles, too fast and no sense of slaughter at all. Can't get close enough to really see the action, it's just guys chasing guys round.

Stuck at work, dying to get home to give this a go.

Does anyone know if the multiplayer has a king of the hill mode, or some kind of capture objectives that doesn't give powerups (so not like Shogun 2)?

It unlocked everywhere at 00.00 pacific time.

Bought a hard copy of the game due to my internet being so slow. Forgot that I still had Steam on offline mode so before I can start to install it I have to wait for Steam to update.. Hurry up! I just want to play!

huh ? in what way... people have barely played it, no one can possibly give a decent opinion of it yet. Most TW games take timne to get going.... like days/weeks not hours.

You will have a gig update when finished installing aswell.

Agreed, cant comment on content etc but can comment on speed, graphics, UI etc right away

In multiplayer can 5 or more of you play against AI? (Like old Rome Total War could!)

Or is it limited to a max of 4 per side?

Anyone? Surely one of you guys with the game can see if you can have 5 or 6 humans vs an AI?

Who hasn't played a total war game.
The original is like one of the highest rated PC games of all time.

I never buy games on the first day, but I had NO hesitation at spending 25 quid on this.

Because that would significantly help whether you'd like it.

E.g. I love TW games. The likelihood is I'm going to therefore like this one!

I own Shogun 2 but never got round to playing it, I probably did play one of the old ones but it's been years so can't remember.

why does game use same amount of CPU on campaign map as it does in battle??

why am i getting 23 fps on campaign map but my gpu usage is at 65%

cant stand this warscape engine.
