Rome 2 : Total War

Why can't developers just say to consumers, look we underestimated how long it would take to get the product fully polished so we're going to hold the release back a few weeks/month. Honesty goes a long way instead of just releasing the game to the masses to let them test it for you and to receive bad reviews that will just lower their sales.

Absolutely backwards whoever is in charge.

Publishers and money.

It'll be down to Sega.
I think this is a downgrade to Rome 1 in many ways.

The more I think of it, this is Rome 2 is a great game, but it's also a disappointing great game, as it could have been more, and should have been.

It's like having the potential for a 10, but deciding to go for a safe 7.5

When I installed 13.10 it made it way worse for me lol, worse than before I did the DXsetup fix.
Hopefully it was because I hadn't restarted.

Just finished benchmarking before and after installing the new drivers. Lost about 1fps on the new ones, and another 1fps on min framerate (now 12fps, yay!). This is on a AMD 7950

whats the file to install in R2TW folder that people have said helps performance? is it one of the directx ones?

got it loaded but cant play till tomorrow, want it to go smoothly.

AI needs to withdraw if it has no siege units left in the battle and can't attack a city.

Yup I agree, I had and army 3x bigger than my garrison and they attacked by sea, landed two boats on the port which I dealt with arrows and the huge army landed outside my walls and just stood there. Had to try bait them to my walls and let my ranged kill them until I ran out of ammo but luckily had a tower which took almost the full 50min countdown.

Among AI gripes there are some serious balancing issues, just took a full 12 unit capital garrison with 2 units of gladiators, which at the moment have 116 melee attack and 77 morale. I lost under 100 (mostly to arrow towers) and killed 1000...

I just paused all downloads, and re started it, kept doing that when it went down to 0 bytes / sec

I messed about with Steam for a bit and found that if you go in your library, find the game that refuses to patch and try and launch it and stay away from the download screen, it'll actually download then. Kinda hit and miss though like everything else on Steam.

Your version number top right on the main screen will go from from v.1.0.0 6798 453126 to v.1.0.0 6858 453644.

Should be like v.0.0.1 or something tbh.
