Rooney - 2 B Sold

Roy should offer the £5m to buy out his deal and bring him home ;)

Just picture Taggart's face :D

Although Baconface's face would be a picture, we all know that Rooney would never play for Liverpool.

He has to go abroad now.

I can't see Rooney at any other club, it's like Giggs or Scholes going somewhere else

So many Utd fans have said that over the years and it makes me laugh every time.

He left his boyhood club ('once a blue always a blue') to join Utd, why would he be any more loyal to Utd than he was to Everton?

Losing Rooney wont be the end of the World - not replacing him would be (or at least MUFC for the imminent future). Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the person so it doesn't bother me as much as if certain others left. Still, there's no denying how important he has been for us for the past few years. But a club with big stars winning trophy's is worth more money to the Glazers than a club that can't compete. So I have to at least hope that we could sign someone/s of comparable talent. But I would be happy enough with Chicarito being a regular for the immediate future - despite being unproven and a little rough around the edges, he is such an exciting player, who if we can spend some money on a half decent midfield will score a lot of goals.

Not much more to say than I'm really, really disappointed. His behaviour is completely baffling, like SAF says going from one month being delighted at the club and the next wanting out. I don't understand what's going on, but his position at United seems untenable now.

This too is a very reasoned position. If (and it's a big IF) we can spend the proceeds on a winger and a decent midfielder then I think we will have a stronger squad without Rooney. Berbatov, Chicharito, Owen and Macheda is plenty of options if they have decent service.

If Real offered Benzema and Diarra plus some cash and I was Fergie, I'd snap their hand off. If Rooney does indeed leave, which seems very likely now, the last thing United want is him going to Chelsea or City. Plus, Benzema is a much better striker than people give him credit for and I think he'd fit in well. After all, before Real stupidly bought him United supposedly made a substantial offer for him.

After Rooney's appalling behaviour in the past few weeks/months I don't really care if he leaves now, I just don't want him going to another premier league team!

if he goes, it really can only be real madrid cant it ?

if he does we have to go for a player plus cash deal imho (benzema). having said that as long as whatever money we ge is spent wisely, i.e a AMC and a winger then I think we will kick on as a club.

no one is bigger than any club and lets be honest we've been carrying rooney for the las 6 months.

all this because he couldnt keep it in his pants.

hope fergie gets rid asap.

no point keeping him now, get something for him while we can.

Problem is, I get the distinct feeling any cash we make from a sale will dissapear into the debt. If Gill is clever, he'll do a player + cash deal.

I completely agree, player plus cash is the only way we should sell him. Otherwise, as you say, most of the money will probably be used to fund the debt repayments.

We're only 8 games into this season, and it's my understanding it was him doing the carrying for you last season. Where have you got 6 months from?

He was apparently better than Ronaldo last season according to a lot of Man U fans, now he's just rabbish :D

Quality player.

Being in shocking form since the end of last season.

Don't understand why he wants out.

Get good money for him and help build the team.
