Rooney retires from international football

When did Messi carry a lesser team to anything? Zidane too, the French side was quality throughout. Anyway, who cares he played in the EPL and Europe at the highest level, like every other young English player he started well for England then realised no one actually gives a ****. It can't be a coincidence that so many young England players start well and then fall into plodding average at International level like the rest of them. Rooneys best game for England was his first, you can probably look through all our decent young England players of the last 10-15 years and say the same, they peaked for england inside of 5 games.

It's a lower standard, no one cares.

Yeah, if you ever watch police interceptors or anything like that you can be massively boozed and you just get a ban and a fine. Lead the police on a huge chase and cause hundreds of thousands in damages? Fine,ban and some community service, perhaps more if you have a load of drugs on you. If you're gonna commit a crime, do it in a car.

Did you miss the part where I said 'could carry' not 'has carried'? Rooney clearly isn't in the same bracket as the very best in history but that doesn't mean he wasn't a damn good footballer even if he is a slightly flawed individual.

Come on, you wouldn't say "Messi, Maradona and Zidane players that could carry a less gifted side to bigger things" unless you meant they had. Otherwise what's the point of using them in the example, because two of them didn't.

Or I could just say Rooney is a player that could carry a less gifted team to bigger things. But hang on I don't mean he has just that he could but didn't :p

Well lets see what rooney can do at everton.They arent exactly a lesser team, but still very interesting to see if he still has it, and how far he can take them this season.

Zidane hardly had the chance the France team of his era was ridiculous but I think if you put him in his prime in our national side he would had more impact than Rooney he was a player who made things happen! Messi still has the chance to carry Argentina to a World Cup there current side is pretty meh and would you bet against it?
 
It's good that the judge used some common sense and gave him community service rather than a fine but he'll probably end up doing it in the Everton youth department or something cushy.
