Unfortunately, the real point total for each season are a lot different:

04-05 13 pts,
05-06 10 pts,
06-07 11 pts,
07-08 16 pts,
08-09 20 pts,
09-10 15 pts ,
10-11 6pts

Surely that's just a typo where it says 8 games? Since you have 9 points now.

EDIT: Oh yeah, it's 9 games now, sorry.

EDIT: Nope, definitely a typo. Those stats are all for what you had after 6 games. Still, don't let that stop the paranoia complex.

To be honest this article shows just how a football club should be run (not spunking £100m on players and then paying them astronomical wages to sit on the bench).

This is how I want Liverpool to be run, as an on going concern rather than be funded by a sugar-daddy just to win things, you get a better feeling from winning a trophy knowing you earnt it rather than bought it.

Absolutely agree, would rather win things through effort (like Man Utd over time) than just by "buying" success.

Was amazed that Maxi is on 70k a week, seems like far too much for him in terms of his ability.

What's the difference between a club making a lot of money in a short space of time by floating on the stock market, and Roman Abramovic rolling in and buying a club and throwing cash at it?

There was a hint of lucky in United's rise as well, PL beginning to get big (i mean, big .. internationally big) thanks to sky, and United winning the PL / challenging on all front for the first time in god knows how many years, meant they could charge a premium for shares.

About 10 years I think. :p

In reality there is little difference. Utd spend a lot of money a the time buying the best players available. Chelsea did the same when Abramovich took over the club. Chelsea like Utd in the 90's are now looking to bring in youngsters and build for the future.

Imo, one is earned, even if only by using the stock market its still something which has required the club to do some work. The other is simply someone really rich turning up and throwing their own personal wodge of money about. One usually takes some degree of time, investment, energy and work, the other takes a sugar daddy to feel generous today. Just my opinion of course.

My point was that I would rather build a team to gain success, as Utd did with the likes of Giggs, Beckham, Scholes etc, rather than by simply buying whoever at £25 million a pop.

Owners say they want younger players with resale value yet Hodgson prefers the 'more experienced' gentleman. NESV say they would like to follow the Arsenal model yet Hodgson has never in 35 years of management taken any interest in a clubs youth setup or developing talent. Hurry up and do the humane thing NESV.

Fundomg?

Give Hodgson until January. If they are still bottom half, he may be gone, personally, A manager should be given at least a full season.
