A thrashing by Chelsea could be the end of Roy, it will be interesting to see what he does in the press conference. I am dreading the "They are a wonderful team, it would be a shame for them not to win .......".

Its hardly going to be anything but a 1 club thread now though is it?
Other fans could care less as long as we'r getting beaten :p so for the most part they want him here as long as possible.
Only pool fans want him gone -> so we end up ranting in here.

Back on the topic of Roy:
If we beat chelski ( .. heh), will this rank as another famous victory like Bolton away? :p
I mean, we've never beaten chelsea before, especially not whilst en-route to a European cup final.

Not off topic is it? It's generally about Hodgson and his apparent lack of managerial abilities that the fans demand..and to be fair expect!

there has been loads of discussion re specific players and other topics, all over and above any links to Hogson's (lack of) managerial abilities

It has gone off topic, this is fast becoming a general Liverpool thread.

Club threads aren't allowed :p

Liverpool club threads are given second chances though :p

I would just rename the thread "Hodgson not getting the sack yet, sorry Pigeon" and bin it.

There's very little to this thread to discuss now that can't be said in the match or transfer threads.

Still have no faith in Hodgson despite our two recent wins and still hope he's sacked. We played well against Blackburn but we were awful against Bolton and didn't deserve the win much like we didn't deserve to beat West Brom. We're incredibly lucky not to be sitting at the bottom of the table due to his mis-management.

Baiting isn't allowed either but he's letting you get away with it so far ;)

Duno if its been posted before, but Roy's pre-Fulham CV shows enough why he shouldn't be at pool :(

1976-80 Assistant Coach Hamlstadt
80-82 Unemployed
1982 Got Job as Bristol City manager sacked after 20 games just 3 wins
1983-89 Coached as Assistant at Malmo Orebro
1989-92 Coached Neuchatel Xamax where he won 29 out of 72 games
1992-95 Swiss coach did well winning half games 21 out of 41
1995-97 Managed Inter one of the biggest clubs in Italy won just 38 of his 87 games
1997-98 Blackburn Manager sacked won 22 out of 62 games
1998- Back to Inter lasted just 3 games
1999-2000 Grasshopper sacked after one season winning just 14 of 36 games
2000-2001 Copenhagen His most successful spell but still lasted just one season winning a respectable 18 out of 35
2001-2001 Didn’t even last a full season at Udinese
2002-2004 UAE Manger winning just 4 games in this period
2004-2005 Viking manager lasted just one season
2006-2007 Finland Manager lasted just one year

"I think that Mr Hodgson, he doesn't understand," insisted Benitez. "Every single press conference is even worse than the last one. He's talking about things that he doesn't know. And some people cannot see a priest on a mountain of sugar."

Things like this do make me miss Rafa, I'll admit. Hodgson needs to talk more oblique weirdness.

Posted this in the transfer thread but think it should be in here too considering the ramifications this could have on Hodgson; Comolli has joined the club as some sort of Director of Football/Glorified Scout.

This appointment just goes to back up all the talk of NESV wanting to invest in youth and looking at the bigger picture in terms of transfer dealings. Hodson on the other hand has shown in the short time he's been with us, but also throughout his career that he's only interested in the short-term.

Hopefully NESV's next decision will be to appoint a manager that fits into their plan.
