Another thing as well, Hodgson is not normally TOO animated on the sidelines, normally the assistant he gets to do that. Although he been a little at Liverpool which is understandable :p. He'll try encourage as much as he can from the sidelines, but is known for proper hairdryers at HT etc.
Except its not encouraging.
If you had been at any of the games (Which, obviously you wont be considering you dont support 'pool :p) you would know he only gets up to yell at players to drop back behind the ball. Even at home. Even against WBA, and even when we have a counter-attack on.

Well obviously not "every" Liverpool fan as I would rather see an entertaining 90 mins of attacking football even if we lose, than 90 mins of turgid defensive play for a 1-0 win.
By 1-0 win, you mean loss right? :p

"I've had two-and-a-half wonderful years (at Fulham) where nothing ever negative was said about me and my team. Now maybe people are saying negative things. It doesn't change anything. I work the same way as I did last year."
Sounds like someone is surprised that the Liverpool job is high pressure. Growing less and less fond of Uncle Roy, and I wasn't fond at all in the beginning. One of the most uninspiring appointments ever made at the club.

I like Hodgson, I think it's a shame he took the role as it isn't going to do him any good, I think he's destined for failure. I don't think anyone else in the same position would do any better either.

Whilst I can see where you're coming from and it's not a daft thing to say, I would disagree. In fact I think Benitez would have us higher up the table than we currently are and I just about wanted him to go. When I wanted him to go, I didn't think we would be getting Uncle Roy in as a replacement.

I know Benitez was made to be the big joke when he was Liverpool manager, with opposition fans and media chirping in with their continuous two cents. But we've gone from controlling games to looking atrocious in the move from Benitez to Hodgson.

When I say controlling games under Benitez, I don't necessarily mean winning games but we rarely looked out of control or unaware of what to do within them. That has completely gone within the space of a few months and as a fan it's a very uncomfortable change.

Now I know Roy is in the process of putting his stamp on the team and that can take a long time, so I'm trying not to be over-critical and I definitely won't go as low as some Liverpool fans have already, with their name calling.

However, the team's slackness and what Roy says to the media is beginning to grate on me slightly. It's clear that he's beginning to feel the pressure, even though his comments about not being criticised at Fulham are an attempt to be deflective.

Being seemingly happy with a point in games is also something that could become annoying throughout the season - not to mention he's already ruled us out of winning the league. An extremely tall order I must admit, but what does that do for belief or the notion of taking games one at a time and seeing how we get on?

One thing that I do find amusing is that we don't zonal mark now. Yet when we concede the media and pundits don't mention it, whenever we conceded under rafa it always sparked an obsession with media and pundits declaring it was because of zonal marking :)

I think the chap deserves a chance (at least a full season), but the signs are definitely worrying. I think all but the most diehard of red scousers must have accepted that a challenge in the league was out of the question this season, but even in the cup competitions they have looked very lacklustre for the most part.

If it gets to January and Liverpool are out of europe and struggling to keep up with the top 6 then questions will be asked. Part of the issue is maybe his personality doesn't lend itself to this type of situation, a 'legendary' club giving far from legendary performances. You expect a bit of a backlash, fighting talk, confidence-inspiring pontification like you would see from a Mourinho, Fergie or even MON. And that isn't his style. The 'true gent' style is quite fitting, dare I say it quaint at middling clubs like Fulham, but in the pressure cooker of the traditional big4 clubs it may not cut it. Even a true legend like Bobby Robson got some flak once things starting going south at Newcastle.

Well, I did believe that Hodgson deserved a chance, but after what happened today he's really got to go. The players either don't want to play under him or his system or actually can't. They're in the bottom three in the league! I'm not a huge Liverpool fan but I used to like the way they played. None of the players Roy has bought are up to standard! There's been a gradual decline in the quality of players bought to replace those sold. They sold Alonso (best DM in the EPL at the time IMO) and then Mascherano as well and who was bought to replace him? Poulsen? he's slow and isn't even a good player. Torres is now injured and even if he was fit Roy's team is just so negative! At home they should have been playing 3 up front against Blackpool! I do think Babel could be a good player if he's allowed to gain some confidence and get a run in the team and Lucas actually works better when he's allowed to get forward. As a DM he's not a patch on Alonso or Masch though.

Konchesky is a solid LB but I'd say only on par with Insua, although he makes better decisions. Benayoun should never have been sold. He was by far Liverpools most creative player after gerrard and to sell him to a rival team for a paltry £6 million shows the current owners value money over the team. I'm not sure if he's iunjured but He's hardly played a game for Chelsea since he joined and I don't think he's ever even started for Chelsea. I hope he realises soon what a mistake he's made!

IMO he's got to go and they should put Kenny in at least until the club has been sold. he won't cost a penny in compensation to anyone as he's employed by the club and he understands the weight of expectation the fans have and the board should have. Martin O'Neill could be a possibility but he likes to do his own thing and I don't think he'll get that with the current board and owners.

- Cost 6 million to bring in
- Spent 9 million on two 30 year old reseves
- Sent a £20 million player on loan to Juventus
- Sent the LB out on loan after saying he liked him
- Played 442 with no wingers since the start of the season
- has a record of Won 1 Drawn 3 Lost 3, or 6/21
- Got knocked out the Carling cup by a relegation threatened League 2 side
- Has Liverpool in the relegation zone for the first time in 26 years.

Nice CV right there!

Surely people realise that the loan of Aquilani has gone above him. They probably have a fee agreed, in the region (or thereabouts) of what they paid for him. Insua was nearly gone before he got there. Hodgson is probably the only manager who would attempt to manage a team, with a board selling players when they want to. You really think he'd want to sell Aquilani, Mascherano and Insua by choice?

As above, Screwed, Shafted i mean i didnt beleave we would title challange but i never thought id see us in bottom three! >.<

Yup, definitely it's like the season is gonna end next week and you'll be relegated.

Oh, it's only 7 games in ;).

EDIT: Forget what I posted. Agreement in place is £13.1m for permanent transfer to Juventus next summer if they want to take up the option. Early indications are that they don't but a long time to go yet.

You're right in the first half... A bad decision for Liverpool, and yes, he is injured but for Benayoun, he's left a club currently in the relegation zone and joined arguably the best team in the premiership. He's not a certain first team member, but few players in Chelsea are... he's played a reasonable number of matches and is likely to win the premier league with his team... Do you seriously think he would be happier at Liverpool who are realistically going to end up well below the top 4?

Wow, what a turn around, Liverpool are obviously not going to go down but they are going to miss out on CL football and even Europa league football unless they win the Europa league (what do the winners get in terms of next season European football), tbh I can see them winning the FA Cup or getting to the final, need to get new owners in even if its at a loss, Torres will be like FFUU wtf am I doing here, world cup winner, he could easily go in Jan if Citeh put in a bid.

I can't believe I am going to say this...but.... on the Torres issue, for the first time today I actually found myself wondering if we probably should cash in on him (not to an epl team though). When he is fit he is one of the best, but today , another injury , something which seems to be happening more and more with him. Having a top striker is all good and well, but not if they are out every 4 months with an injury. I found myself wondering if 40m for him, spent wisely might not be the better option for the squad as a whole.

I don't think we will make the champions league, in fact I don't think we will qualify for Europe at all this season. There is a whole lot of rebuilding to be done, its going to take going back to the drawing board and I think its going to take several years (assuming no super rich buyer) to get us back to a force. This is why I don't think Hodgson is the one to carry us through this period, at 63 he simply doesn't have the years to be building something from scratch over several years.
