Ampere is already a pretty poor product, another 2.5% performance is really not going to help much.
Poor silicon (thanks Samsung).
High power draw.
Massive coolers.
Poor DX12 performance.
Overpriced.
I think NVidia should call it a day with Ampere and put all their efforts into the next gen of cards.
That is one view. Many look at what it is, consideration of BOM and R&D and what it actually gives you as an individual to decide if it is well priced. Or to I overthink everything and as long as there is money in the bank I should buy? lolIts only overpriced if you cant afford it - Nv and AMD have sold boat loads , so they both know where the market has gone to cost wise

It definetly isn't. The 3060 Ti is around on par with a 2080 Super, not a 2080 Ti. The 3070 trades blows with the 2080 Ti, though even then you're giving up 3GB VRAM in the deal and 8GB is already a problem in certain games at 4K. Granted, the 3070's RRP is less than half of the 2080 Ti's, but that's only because the 2080 Ti was so absurdly overpriced in the first place. My 3060 Ti is faster than last generations flag ship in raster and RT
Naaaaah, Ampere is a great product, just overpriced. My 3060 Ti is faster than last generations flag ship in raster and RT... that's great progress. There is only one sub standard performer in the lineup imo and that's the 3060.

Ah, I thought the 2080 was the flagship not the Ti. My bad.
I bought my 1080ti 3 years ago for £630.
Compared to my 650£ 3080fe, I think the current generation is amazing.
3 years later (admittely took me a year to get one)
20£ more and vastly quicker and cooler.
Sadly they were sold at a stupidly high price.
You know. You're right. I think the 2080 came out a few weeks later. The 1080ti was also £1200 at one point in it's lifecycle. to get it for 1080ti and only 3 years ago you bought it EOL. not a fair comparison IMO. the 1080ti average price was £800+ over it's lifetime only those that bought it at the start of it's lifecycle or the end like you got a good deal.
Any realistic price predictions for the 40 series? I'm hoping to be able to get a 4080 for £800 max but I know that might be wishful thinking......
Probably be £799 for a 4070 and £999 for a 4080 and £1999 for a 4080Ti/4090.

Guys stop talking about prices, it happens every generation and you'd think people would learn. Prices can be fluctuating even a few hours before launch, and apparently Turing prices weren't decided until an hour before the launch presentation so sites really know absolutely nothing. It's all BS clickbait crap, rise above it.
