Are the stability issues sorted on the 3080. I seem to recall when they first came out there were problems with some of the components on the back of the cards.
No problems with my 3080Ti FE bought in Dec 21.

Wasn't that fake news by youtubers who jumped the gun for views? Are the stability issues sorted on the 3080. I seem to recall when they first came out there were problems with some of the components on the back of the cards.
Looking on ocuk the cheapest 3080 is £170 more expensive than the cheapest 3070. Both are Inno3D make.
So is it worth the extra money? I game at 1440p and i have a 165Hz monitor. CPU is a ryzen 3600.
3090 then.Whatever card i get i will be keeping for a long while. If i can get a decent 1440p ultrawide or 4k screen then i may do in future.
I had planned to get the card and see how it went, then get a new PSU if needed. Then maybe a 5600X or 5700X after that.
Then on top of all that ive seen a nice full build on marketplace with a 3070 and an i5 12400F for around £850 so wondering if that may be better.
Neither the 3080 or 3070 have enough Vram for me to say keep it, or just wait for he 4000 series.
If you were thinking of going 1440p UW or 4K as you stated then the 3080 was your only real choice. I would pay the extra and get the TUF; it will run cooler and quieter than the Inno and hold it's value longer. I've had Inno cards before and vowed never again.Right ive decided on the 3080 and on that note ive got a new sealed RM850 PSU off marketplace.
I like the TUF RTX 3080, but is it really worth the £80 premium over the cheapest Inno3D model?
I hadnt but it looks like i can get a 12gb card for the price of the tuf 10gb card. Inno3d or zotac. Dont like the look of the cooler on the inno, so probably be the zotac.
Or the 3080ti vision ive been offered on facebook for £850
With the transient spikes you could be asking for problems depending on the quality of the PSU. Incidentally, I have gamed on a 3090 briefly with a 650W PSU but I had the sneaky feeling eventually it would trip the OCP and shut down the system. You will need a PSU upgrade for the 12GB 3080, 3080ti and also a 3090. Your 650w will not do for any of these cards.
A 3070 is the max I would use on that 650w psu.

I hope your choice is satisfactory. Good choice on the 3080, more than enough grunt for 1440P.So TUF 3080 and 5700X ordered. hopefully can collect from store tomorrow
