OcUK normally good customer service it's evident all it needed was a few back and forths before both parties were satisfied and overall a happy ending has been reached.

Typical crab mentality from some trying to pull down normal people. Shame on you for siding against someone Subject to this treatment.
The original offer was derisive. the fact the OP has wasted so much time having to horse trade with a hundred million plus company etc.. all is in his favor.
Very poor customer service is only comment worth stating not against a normal guy.
Depends if the card was sold at an inflated price by the retailer or not. What do you think OCUK get from MSI? Do you think they get a partial refund as well?
No, obviously not.
So making these 'offers' for this or that card, or some arbitrary amount of money, OCUK are getting a second opportunity for profit out of one transaction.
This is why I never buy anything from ocuk anymore. I've had a few really poor customer service experiences with them years ago, and I've got a long memory.
"But they are allowed to it by trade law!"Still not great to be given a 16gb card, and downright offensive to have the 4070ti offered initially... Using MM prices to justify that, as some were, is foolish. Other marketplaces exist to sell.
Poor customer service in this case, and it shouldn't be defended. The company trying to take the customer for a ride, shouldn't be the accepted procedure, especially not here.
So you'd take a 24GB 3090 Ti over a 16GB 4080 Super? OP was offered a £1090 refund, he could buy two used 24GB cards with that, but still not great?Still not great to be given a 16gb card
Does the replacement 4080 super have a full warranty or is it 90days?
On another note when OCUK send off a gpu to manufacturer and set a hard threshold of 30 days to return the card back to the owner- what does anyone do without a gpu for that time? Lol
That’s true. Just thinking of the folks that don’t have one ie 5800x3d.I used my IGPU! Could about manage a bit of browsing..
Use a backup GPU or buy one and sell afterwards. You could also just get a used one from Amazon warehouse with a 30 day return window. On another note when OCUK send off a gpu to manufacturer and set a hard threshold of 30 days to return the card back to the owner- what does anyone do without a gpu for that time? It would be amazing if the retailer you have RMAed to would provide a loan gpu but that would be wishful thinking and not feasible.Use a backup GPU or buy one and sell afterwards. You could also just buy a new one with a 30 day return window.
This is why if I was OP I would've just taken the £1090 refund and ordered a new Zotac 4080 Super for £960 with a fresh 5 year warranty and £130 left over.It should be neither. It should be the remainder of his original warranty. He paid for his original warranty, it shouldn't just magically change to 90 days or restart because the product is different from the original one that the warranty was purchased with.
Yup, indeed. I started to think the exact same thing after I posted! This is why if I was OP I would've just taken the £1090 refund and ordered a new Zotac 4080 Super for £960 with a fresh 5 year warranty and £130 left over.
