I do love how the vast vast vast majority of people on here have pointed out the OP acted like a ****** yet he just will not take it!

Lul.... yeah it's quite ridiculous to be honest.

In the face of pretty much everyone saying you asked for it he still thinks he is in the right....

Deluded much?

I also noticed most of his posts have at least one of these assumptions, it's quite funny :)

It's a shame as he may have a pin of a leg to stand on in regards to getting arsey but to add in these poor assumptions of those that disagree with him completely removes the leg.

Arrogant? If it's no wonder the guy lost his cool, why is it any wonder that I lost mine? Do you think I was at home chilling out playing call of duty like you or many others here probably do every day?

Like I've said earlier in this thread, the face you see representing a company is the face that takes the brunt of your frustration, whether it's his fault or not. Yes it's unfortunate for him, but not the end of the world and he should not have answered back. Have some standards.

You could find a ton of people in for instance the network forum who have complained to virgin media or some other company about something. Does this mean the person they speak to is responsible for the problem? No, but they are the person representing the company and who the customer vents at. Get real.

The problem is not that you raised the lateness as an issue. The problem is that you were rude doing it, seem to think you have a right to talk down to the driver, and got all high and mighty when you deservedly got the same back. As people have mentioned in the thread you could have asked politely what the issue was and, if it was still a problem for you raised it again in a measured way with customer services. But you didn't.

I complain about bad practice, bad service and bad customer service when it happens. I don't however act like it's the fault of the guy taking my call, and I don't treat people like crap, especially when it's not their fault, just because I have been inconvenienced.

Perhaps if you complained about the situation to him like a adult and not some moody teenager, you wouldn't have got a sarcastic response.

I am sure if you said something like: "Thank you but this has really inconvenienced me today and it would be good if you could pass some feedback to your employer asking for updates if a delivery window is not met" - you would not have got a sarcastic comment and most likely would have got an apology.

Also, why start a thread asking if you were being too fussy and then reject the pretty unanimous verdict that says you were? Very odd.

You get real, im glad he didn't take your non sense and argued back, hes a human being, as are you, treat people with some respect and you will get respect back, its really that simple.

Are you one of those people who can't ever see that they're in the wrong?

Well said.

Brilliant, nothing on telly tonight and this thread is delivering on entertainment.

Do you expect your staff to put up with rude customers? I certainly don't. If a customer/client is rude to someone in my organisation I will personally step in and ask them to treat the member of staff with due respect.

And we deal with proper ass-hats. For some reason, when people are selling their houses they seem to lose all sense of perspective.

Op, you're being one of those people. Do the manly thing, admit you're in the wrong, because you are. We'll all still respect you in the morning that way.

He doesn't have any staff probably because he would treat them like dirt on company time because he really is paying their wages.

The reason I'm stubborn is because all I said to him was "an hour and a half late". I didn't shout at him. I didn't swear at him. He only had to say "yes, sorry about that, it was because... ". You lot are making me out to be a monster, typical GD going OTT. :p

Right, I accept I shouldn't have said that to him. I know it wasn't his fault.

But a lot of people react spontaneously to things when angry, it's human nature. And it's just unfortunate to whoever is in the line of fire.

Neverthless, he should have remained professional and not reacted the way he did.
