*Rumour* 1070 Ti (Videocardz.com)

Overkill for that res and refresh rate.

1060 6GB is enough for that in all but the most demanding of games

Yeah I know which is why there needs to be a card between the 1060 and the 1070.

I didn't want a 1060 because I want to max out my games and keep the card for the next few years.

so you think it's better to spend say £550 on a 1080 than £220 on a 1060 6GB so that in 2 years time you can still play games?

Or you could buy the 1060. Sell it in 2 years time and then buy a 2060ti and have just as fast a card as the 1080 but with £200 spare still in your pocket. Buying top end if you don't need it is throwing money away regardless of what happens in 2 years time.

Yeah I was a bit worried these were going to come in at £370 with some free games and make me regret the 1080 I got.

Thankfully not.

What are you replacing it with?

For now I grabbed a 470 off the MM but when they appear I hope to get an AIB Vega but if they cost too much I'll probably wait or worse case get another 1080 that fits in my new case, I've currently got my m-atx system in a midi case because the 1080 Armor won't fit in the Corsair 240 cube case

With DSR being a thing the best policy is to buy the fastest card you can at the time.

I have a 1080P 75Hz screen but nothing ever gets played at 1080P, everything is at least 1440P and 4K, i'm that used to it now 1080P makes me go eww.... blurry washed-out jagy image quality.

Seriously guys the most important thing you will buy for gaming is the GPU, make it a good one, even if that means sacrificing a coffeelake i7 for an i5 or a Ryzen 1600 depending on your overall budget the difference between those CPU's is nothing, The GPU matters far more.

Unless the mining performance of the 1070ti is better than the 1080 (as predicted).
This would mean miners would buy the 1070ti and gamers the 1080 if they were the same price....
I can only hope for another increase in 1070 prices, affected by 1070ti prices. Might upgrade to a 1080 that way.

Why are you always so obsessed what people do or do not do with their money?

I don't really bother to much, just found it funny that this thread was there and you said it's overkill. To me if people want to push max frames and have the money then a 1080ti is not even overkill in some games at 1080p. Me personally i just adjust my Fps until the games are smooth. My 290 still does a really good job at 1200p. I like to stretch my hardware purchases out though. By buying hardware less often and getting the most from it it makes PC gaming a cheaper experience. I don't buy until i feel my machine is not cutting it experience wise.

It's not even about what the 1060 can do in 2 years time it can't even max out all the games I wanna play now. What's it get on gta ultra mins of 30fps?

Also I will be using fastsync so need to be way above 60.

Also didn't spend £550 lol
