Russell Brand.

Not sure TBH, but possibly. My point was more the type of relationship. I don’t think Brand had the same intentions.

That's an assumption TBH....the assumption being that said circa 35 year old women is looking for a serious, long term relationship with a 16 year old boy.

Everyone throwing the phrase "critical thinking" around this thread, let's apply some CT to that situation above...

What stops journalists providing the information to the police? Also investigative journalism doesn't have to just be on criminal matters.

It should be Journalists investigate, provide evidence to the police, see if they charge and bingo, there's a news story if they do.

Not, investigate, splash your "findings," all over the telly which is based on nothing but hearsay from hacked off ex girlfriends, start a social media hell storm then watch the case get thrown out of court from a half assed case thrown together with no evidence as is what happens more often than not.

Hopefully the subject of the case doesn't top themselves in the process, tends to kill the story.

Absolutely.

Good judgment and self control?

She’s plastered, danger Will Robinson.
my entire pulling technique back in the day at uni would be problematic then.

go to club royal or Piccadilly ,21 night club in Manchester.. 50p a pint before 10:30 and a 1/4 bottle of vodka in my back pocket. sink that then look for an equally drunk group of lasses and go from there.

hell technically by the rules some go by I was assaulted when I lost my virginity. I was 18 she was 29 , I was wasted she was sober(ish).

following day I deeply regretted it however it was all my fault and not on her. no one forced me to get off my head on booze, I was 18 so technically an adult (tho didn't act like one) and she certainly didn't strong arm me to her place .

but by today's rules I was taken advantage of.. or is that a special rule only for women?

A 19 year old boy, although he could have been 20 I suppose.

I thought he got married at 19 to his long term girlfriend... You were the one who stated he was possibly around 16 when they started dating:

It’s rather topical. A friend of mine I went to school with married his long term partner at 19 and she was 38. They are still happily married.

If it was his long term partner at 19, how long had they been seeing eachother for before getting married?

A few years.

So when they first met, he would have been about... 16? Younger?

So, back to the question.in response to the bolded bit in the last quote above

Are we saying that a circa 35 year old woman was looking for a serious, long term relationship with a view to marriage with a circa 16 year old boy or was she flattered by the attention and was ok for "a bit of fun"?

Yet here they are victim blaming and trying to protect brands image. Odd

What I'm seeing is people questioning the allegations seeing as Brand has denied them where Schofield admitted the relationship. Schofields career only dived after he admitted he'd been shagging around behind his wife's back whilst portraying a very upstanding image as a means to further his career. He'd denied allegations repeatedly up to that point. He was also in a position of responsibility over the bloke.

Brand has been pretty open about shagging any pretty woman with a pulse. Actually that's part of his image. The questioning is why his career is being sunk before anything is proven.

I'm not sad he'll potentially disappear though. Grade A tosspot.

Like I said to him, he can't seem to remember what writes.

Not sure I never asked her what her long term intentions were… they had been an item for some time, then announce they would be getting married. I was definitely 19 at the time, but he could have been older yet in the same year. You’re somewhat missing the point though.
