Russell Brand.

Didn't show in the main page for me, obviously it comes up if I Google it or look for it on the news site.

There is of course a difference from googling something and finding a report and it being reported on the main page.

Point obviously overlooked. There is little need for three pages of one story in the main page for something that isn't really news.

Why do you think a plane crash in Brazil should be on the front page, that's what the other pages are for like International or South America?
I think there was a bloke murdered in New York, should that be on the front page?
We don't have all our murders on the front page, in fact a woman in Stoke killed her two kids and it had a mention on the BBC regional page - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-stoke-staffordshire-65918906
It's a conspiracy.

I love those Social Media headlines where somebody writes "Media keeping it from us" so you do a search and Google is full of it :)

Absolutely not what I said. I said Russell Brand is on the front of the BBC news, he's the main story. This isn't news, it's a targeted character assassination.

14 dead. Not a single thing on main page of the BBC. But there's three articles on brand.

Man brutally murdered in Vegas this week, not seen it on a single news outlet.

Mr Brand, a man where there is (so far) zero proof of anything, has multiple articles in front pages of all mainstream UK news outlets.
British news sites prio British news. It's a conspiracy.

Pretty sure I haven't replied to you.

I made the original point earlier about the plane crash, which to be fair likely wouldn't be a headline, my point simply being that the level of coverage this is drawing is simply disproportionate to the actual story.

Well known TV star *allegedly* rapes people? Pretty big news in this country with the recent context e.g Saville etc.

I think that’s just how you view the world TBH. I see Russell Brand in the news with questions about his character.

Sorry, I was replying while pooping. I meant they have not gone on TV themselves. Likely voice actors reading transcripts from interviews they’ve done with journalists, likely in a their own environment.

5pm and it's still the top story, the BBC have updated the article to say they're "urgently looking into the issues raised". Interestingly they've linked several videos in the story, but apparently refused to link his own video denying the accusations and have simply taken a screenshot from it and put it at the bottom of the story.

'Front page' stories on BBC news are no doubt also weighted by clicks and engagement.

And since it's also the most read story on BBC, it makes sense that they would make it front and centre.

Apparently it has taken 4 years of investigations to produce the allegations in the programme so I suspect there is nothing more serious to come - as long as none of them go to the police and his wife doesn't dump him I think the story will fizzle out without the need for a Huw Edwards style hospital visit..

There must be a lot of nervous BBC and Channel 4 employees out there though with the regularity of these types of stories..

I dont believe a thing from the mainstream media anymore... funny how its always someone who is a danger to them or someone getting close to a truth that gets assassinated by media.

If there are genuine provable crimes then he will be prosecuted, but i suspect this will end up being a character assassination routine.
