No one said it was illegal but people in their 30s shouldn't be sleeping with 16 year olds. They are still legally a child. And if her account is to be believed he wanted her to play up on being a child. Its creepy as ****.
My point was that, I'll use your example, would be all those people working around Bill Wyman now claiming they didn't know anything about it.
A natural reflex isn't it?
The whole industry is rotten and largely that is a reflection of society itself either not caring, only caring when it's the 'other side' or wanting to deflect from their own vain, sinful behaviour by pretending they're angels calling out the bad uns.

I see this every day from Google sending me news captions. Like today saying" massive thunderstorms to hit the UK or heatwave to smash the UK with maps showing huge deep red blotches over the UK.
When in the normal world it's just a little thunderstorm if you get one and the heatwave is just warm to hot weather which is normal. Nothing that warrants huge deep red blotches over the UK like it's the end of the world.
Well of course they would because it's probably the likes of the Express/Star or whatever other rag has these hyperbolic headlines and sadly the dumbest people in existence huff that **** like sugar. Engagement = Ad revenue = Google execs get their 6th yacht.

But people don't want others to think they saw something and either found it acceptable or that they just did nothing. Back then many in society thought it was acceptable for a rock and roll star to be having sex with a minor as she looked much older than she was. The Sun was printing pics of her looking all sexy as a 15 year old. Others I'm sure didn't think it was acceptable but kept their mouths shut for fear of losing their jobs etc. Why put yourself in the spotlight by making any comment at all now? If you say you thought it was ok you'll be vilified. If you said you thought it wasn't and said nothing you'll be vilified.

I agree. So why have channel 4 put themselves in the spotlight?
I'm sure I've seen a message from channel 4 that they are going to investigate these matters.. the people laughing it off "boys will be boys" (that phrase always annoyed me, especially when women said it) are going to be exposed, at least internally.
C4 brought Brand in to the industry. We know he was high on drugs presenting programmes for MTV. He's admitted that himself. I seem to remember he was taken off big brothers little brother, on channel 4 suddenly. But it was all quickly brushed over and moved on.

They turned a blind eye because he didn't have any opinions of worth. He was a loud mouth druggie attacking the right wing. Anyone remember "Nazi Boy"? When he was giving the right wing "fash" a verbal beating nobody minded.
I suspect if he hadn't started doing his videos nobody would have brought anything up.
How many people here were old enough to be watching channel 4 in the 90s, and the original MTV channel? When Brand was on there?
They all knew what he was like back then but he was just a very naughty boy. Now suddenly those people who give him a pass previously are acting shocked now.
He was literally mauling and flirting with women while he was on the shows.

Different leadership at the channel maybe and none will have to answer for what might have happened while others were in charge. Shouldn't we be pleased that a company is prepared to do this?
