Russian SU-24 - Shot Down by Turkey

In the SU-24 example, when you border a country which is an active warzone, ANYTHING which comes into your Sovereign airspace you shoot down, simple as, if they don't respond you have no idea what that aircraft intends to do.

So lets say you don't shoot it down, how far do you let things go, should Turkey be allowing Russia to fly over Istanbul, is that acceptable now?

Even when not at war it has been shown that the RAF are more than willing to shoot down an unidentified aircraft, and rightfully so.

Russia is trying to play games with the rules and they have finally being called out and paid the price.

Don't be silly, this is GD. Also, don't believe what the MOD tells you; they would hardly admit to an incident that illustrated their inability to protect the nation.

Play the game at least, this is the part in which you post an article by some crackpot who has found someone who is also a crackpot who claimed to see something they didn't.

Also i want details of the huge diplomatic issues this will have caused, please also provide details of these.

How many times do I need to say it, the did NOT enter British airspace!!

From the Mod "The Russian Bear bombers did not enter sovereign airspace, it said."

Calm down dear! This is just a conversation! But if course if you're right then the multiple eye witness accounts of seeing the aircraft over Cornwall must be nonsense.

while unlikely it isn't completely unrealistic, has certainly escalated things and Russia might well retaliate in some way...
