If these are real then its all about the price.
The games coming with the GPU are supposed to be resident evil 2, devil may cry 5 and the division 2

As expected, not going to set the world alight. Somewhere between 10 and 15% faster than a 580. And in some cases only just edging out a 1060.

Edges a 1060? I'd say it conformably beats it at stock vs stock. Quick maths it being around 5-10% faster which makes a big different if your chasing 1080p60.

Comea down to price and bundles.

Averages aren't the whole story (and in fact 5% average actually sounds worse than 0-25% across all titles).

But clearly if you play Overatch, Fornite or PUBG a lot then yes, "in some cases" the 590 is barely any quicker than a 1060.

It's not exciting. If it was quicker across the board than a 1060 by at least 15% that would be something to talk about.

This is just more "meh" in an ocean of "whatever".

And I say this as someone who is planning to move to Navi+Zen2 in 2019, so don't call me an nVidia/Intel shill please :p

If what is posted is true, its only slower than the 1060 in one of the games. If this is priced the same as or less than the current 580 than that's a good job imo. Whilst we all wish AMD will release something faster than the Vega 64 new architecture takes time and money. Hopefully with the success of ryzen, the latter is less of a problem these days.

In fairness, the 290 was released in October 2013.
The 300 series in mid 2015, by which time 290/390 perf was £250 ish.
Then the 480 for the same price/perf.
Then the 580 for the same price/perf.

Yes improvements take time... but AMD have had 3-6 years to improve on the price/perf of the 290 :p

I'd say it looks alright. If you haven't already got a PC and only want to spend like 700-800 quid max then it could be ideal for some. Obviously if you have a 480 already it's not the one for you and arguably an upgrade over a 470 could be wasted on this too. For me 30% gain is the minimum I like to see and then it makes a difference to the gameplay.

I'd be interested in a sub £200 RX 590 with 3 games for my daughters build, just not ponying up £250/£280 especially when the VEGA 56 is selling for £349.

Interesting pick of game titles to bench against. All popular, most don't normally favour AMD at the mid/high end. If they can keep the price to match the 1060 then this could be a good win for AMD.
