Ryzen "2" ?

Hmm, just tried an all core clock of 4.3, ran a few cinebench runs, scored lower than my other boost style settings which only goes to 4075.

Unless I did something wrong....

Yup something wrong there, I got 1928 @ 4.25GHz all core. Getting 1830's with default all core boost of around 3950-3975.

Took a different approach.

bclk 101, pe3, offset -0.08, all core boost 4.1 ish, max boost 4.4 ish

That will do for now, trying some gaming. :)

What cooler you using? Max temp in HWmonitor when running a long all core benchmark like IBT or Prime?

Hopefully a quick/easy check. Just making sure I'm with the current info.
1) So it's generally better to leave the all core clock alone, let precision boost do it's thing. We still generally agree there?
2) Precision boost by default will go to the max single target boost clock available (so 4.35ghz on the 2700X)
3) Which setting do I tweak on the Asus Prime X470 pro to amend the envelope settings? I think I know, can track it down but... to be sure :)

Had a windows install go BADLY wrong somehow. Bios update, latest AMD chipset drivers off the site and the rest from Asus.... seems MUCH happier now.
4008 Prime bios is available
18.10 chipset driver should beat any on any included CD's.

Custom water. Will check temps today with IBT. Gaming yesterday it stayed around 42 degrees.

Cheers, deciding if I want to upgrade my cooling to bump up my all core :D

I'm solid at -0.075V, but over time my all core drops from 4050 to 3950 as the CPU temperature hits 70C under sustained load.

Got my 2700x setup last night. Haven't touched or downloaded anything yet.

For someone that hasn't hasn't properly overclocked before, what are the to-do's to start?

I have a 240aio cooler, aorus ultra gaming and the t-forcs 8pack 3666memory. However that is showing as 2333 in my system page.

First up, bios update?

Get your memory up to 3200 with decent timings as a start point.

With these 2700X it seems best just to let them do their thing and just work on undervolting and keeping it as cool as possible and letting it clock itself.

@chroniclard
I think You got old IBT not avx one !!!

Look at my times

AVX will push cpu to the limit if i remember heat output went 5c up when i got this one.
Compare Yours Soc+CPU power draw of 99watts to mine of 179 almost double power in to cpu :p My cooling can handle that easy as You see
