Ryzen "2" ?

what you mean?
I bought a 2600x and just put it in and played.
all default
You now have an option to tinker and tweak if you want but I dont, XFR2 just makes it fantastic
I adjusted the ram but thats like a minute in bios.

buy samsung bdie ram and your golden.
I didnt, I bought cheap ass 3000mhz corsair lpx last year.
No issue

I have 8 Pack ram, and have been fiddling with it for the past 3 weeks.

No end of issues.

Just setting DOCP wasnt enough for me. Freezing and crashing in games.

I think I have got to the bottom of it by finding the correct ProcODT to use.

But I've said this before when it passed stability tests but eventually fell over.

Only time will tell.

I'm also not finding it easy to go above 3200MHz. I tried what 8 pack suggested which is set DOCP change to 3333 strap and BOOM in his words. Except BOOM is what my PC does when I try to use it. 1.4v on the ram and fiddling with the ProcODT and still not stable.

I can even boot no issues at 3466MHz but same. Cant find stability.

I've tried Stillts timings and Ryzen calculator at different straps.

Not stable.

Someone else has a thread about the same issue on a CH6 board.

So it's definitely not plug and play for some.

Do you have an x470 board?

I have a x370.

If you plan on keeping your 1600x until Ryzen 3000 i think you would be better off looking at a cheap second hand top end X370. It wouldn't surprise me in the least to see X570 mobo's at the launch of Ryzen 3000, at that point you would be kicking yourself for grabbing an X470 now.

I'm looking to swap board because the current one is a POS rather than for features. An X470 with 2x m.2 slots and good VRMs is all I really want :) Not planning on swapping my 32gb 3200 any time soon unless there's a huge price crash ^^; Unless we already know what X570 will bring, I'm happy with the feature set of X470.

I wouldnt be buying a board now for a CPU out next year. I would buy the latest board for the new CPU.

Needs to happen, tbh. Current board is running the m.2 drive way too hot (stuck behind GPU) and puts 0.2v onto the vcore if I even think about trying for an overclock. I would never consider putting a 2700X into this thing if I did wish for more cores in the meantime :(

Just had a quick look and the difference between the CH6 and CH7 isnt much, if buying new I would buy the CH7, second hand I would look for a CH6 which I think is now overpriced :)

Buying new, always :)

@opethdisciple

You know its ****** IMC on CPU not the board right ??

I upgraded to a 2700x. Was the same story with my 1700.

Same issue with two chips.

Which makes it more likely to be ram or mobo issue.

I had Corsair ram before the 8 pack stuff that could only run at 3066MHz.

So having changed ram and cpu but still same issues only thing left is the mobo.

This guy has the same issue but with a CH6.

Allot here dont seem to realise how sensitive ryzne platform is to memory settings just by changing one resistance out of 10 i can totally **** stability of my system!!! Not to mention volts and vrm section settings for cpu soc and ddr.

Think this way. To find settings my teamgoup 3733 likes took around 100 hours alone and 5 different versions of ryzen memory calculator!!!

Thats why when i swaped cpu yeaterday was in out boom 3466 on first boot zero problems cold boots ect.

I would look in to trfc timing going from 267 point by point up and after each try ibt very high pass x10

I can pass 272 and 273 will crash on second ibt pass 274 will pass 3 before cras ect.

Damn i love this platform for this. Its like looking for perfect harmony of hardware you are working with.

And since u got 8pack [email protected] i kbow those kits can do 3466cl14 also. Different pcb design afaik to mine

Yeah that's the thing it's not always done it, if I remember correctly it started for me after f16 then it stopped but came back after the last 2 updates

I know I said that I would skip the 2000 ryzen line up but would it be worth trading in the 1700 @3.9 in for a 2700.
Binned one ye random 2700x no :P

@humbug think i can get 4275 stable and tahts that. 4350 would work at 1.45
but same as Zen1 after some pouint of mhz its just NO GAIN 50mhz for 10cb points ?? well thats useless.

For Samsung B-Die there are some timings in this site that I might try.

Is 3333 at c14 better than 3466 at c16 or not?

Only two things other than timings which I will enter will be dram volts and procODT.

What do people guestimate I will need for 3333 and 3466 voltage wise?

Thats not bad.
More like those chips cant do more stable maybe 4300x8 at mentioned 1.45 that wpuld be around 230 watts in to cpu

Dont forget this is top binned cpu cost me almost 400 pounds without cooler :)

I did, its a very nice CPU. Not sure its "worth" it but its a bit quicker. :) Dont need binned either, they dont seem especially better.

I am currently using 1.36V for 3333 14-16-16-32 with my LPX B Die.

Gonna steal the 8 pack team dark pro out daughters build later and see if its any better. :p

Need some help, just build my system (AX850, Asus Prime X470, 2700x, Crucil 3466 DDR4).
I get bad performace, cpu clocks to 3925-3950 during Cinebench 15 and i get 1700cb score and single core score even worse only 170cb
Have only enabled D.O.C.P in bios to get correct ram speed, also tried everythin in default but no change.
temp is under 60c during load

It's kind of normal, others get similar results, too.

I think you should see carefully all BIOS settings and optimise it by apply and try.

Really running out of ideas what to do.

I thought finally I had the ram stable. It passes 400% HCI. I gamed a little last night no issues. Now Wolfenstein is freezing up on me.

I'm using DOCP 1.4v and procODT 53.3.

There is nothing else for me to try. I've done everything I can to make this stable.

Is it possible I have faulty ram? Or is it my mobo?

Am I entitled to send the ram back if it isnt stable at DOCP?

I'm tempted to buy a CH7 but then if I still have the same issues....

---

What could it be?

CPU stock. Ram DOCP with ProcODT set.

It passes HCI 400% but not stable in games.

Something else needs to be tweaked.

Do I need more SOC voltage? Conflicted evidence on this. It's at 1.1v already.

(GPU is stock before you mention it. This problem only started when I introduced this 8 pack ram.)

---

Clearly the thing that's making things unstable is when the GPU is loaded.

It's currently HCI'ing with no issues.

I bought this ram for peace of mind. Plug and forget. Instead it's just a nightmare.
