Ryzen "2" ?

That is exactly the same ram i have, with a x2700 and a gigabyte aorus ultragaming x470 motherboard, can't get it to go above 2866mhz like i mentioned, if you can keep me informed as to whether yours will it would massively appreciated !!

I will. Though remember I'm a noob. I'll prob try xmp first then consider custom settings If I feel I understand it..

What gfx card did you go for? I went for the 1070ti. How are you finding it aside from the RAM issues?

Thank you for that,
But this is what i was mentioning in a previous post, I don't have the CPU Vcore setting just the dynamic vcore one, I alos don't have the VCORE SOC setting only the Dynamic Vcore soc and i also don't have those two options at the end....

This is what i meant to you also, where are these settings???? This is whats stopping me from OC in the bios , its upsetting me a little bit, i feel like i am missing fundamental options from my bios, I am on the latest one the f2g i think it is called.

Hmm strange, latest bios? Is it in classic mode/Do you have to unlock the extra features somehow?

Outstanding, i came from an i5 6600k and it feels snappier and more reliable even if the ram isnt at its rated speed.
I have a vega 64 reference, with an ek-rgb cooling block and custom cooling loop for just it. love it

Are their any guides for this? Volts? C? Wha?

I only know the part of switching to xmp after I've installed windows and updated everything :p

I just want to get the advertised speeds I'm paying for ....

First flash your BIOS with the latest from the manufactures website.

XMP (Actually DOCP as this is AMD) should take care of all that for you.

So flash your bios, reset to defaults (probably a reboot in there some where) set DOCP and save.

That should* be all it needs.

Hope it is that smooth and I don't run into problems others are facing here.

okay so from google i foun dout my motherboard just "lacks" these settings of manual Vcore and Soc and any LLC settings, which sucks massively.

So can someone help me to overclock the bios using offsets of the dynamic vcore and dynamic soc or something....
I've been tinkering for 30 years on computers and this is the first time i've been stumped
What kind of £160 motherboard DOESN'T have a manual VCore setting..... wtf my first 386 dx 40 had this setting, and my schools 286 RM Nimbus machines

Pic of bios screen under MIT and whats under advanced vcore settings?

Just wonder what amd are doing with the presumed 2800x, seems odd it never appeared with the rest. Unless its a cherry picked chip that clocks a bit higher.

I’m guessing we will see it when intel releases its new 8 core rehash, something to take the shine off intels launch, AMD will see it as about time it got some payback

Seems to be quite common with AM4 boards, mine was the same. I think it compensated for not having LLC by setting excessive vcore :(

What did you get, and is it too late to return it for another?

Giga x470 aorus ultra gaming... nothing ultra about it and i think its too late to send back now

Yeah... it um... it's a bit of a lemon, tbh. Buildzoid was not complimentary.

I was on the brink of swapping my Giga B350 board because of it's awful bios never allowing me to control anything (or ever working properly), but with B450 dragging its feet and X470 requiring a move to ATX anyway, I ended up doing a full platform swap instead. With your 2700X I'd be inclined to write the board off as a bad buy and replace it. Probably get 2/3 your money back on a popular auction site though :)
