Ryzen "2" ?

You got 4.4Ghz on all 8 cores at the same time? I highly doubt it. Use HWiNFO for monitoring, HWMonitor reports some incorrect values.

Here's a quick grab, I just reset the min/max then ran a few apps to see and a few cores hit 4.4GHz.

Is HWMonitor useless, should I uninstall and use HWinfo instead?

It's not useless, but I've had better monitoring using the latest hwinfo, think it may be the beta one.

Thats just the boost, not all core clocks. You can get 4.5 boost with a bclk overclock and decent cooling. :)

Ah yes, that's what I meant by "Peak core clocks" i.e. the standard boost/overclock.

I'm in two minds about doing a hard overclock because it seems a waste to have the thing running at full chat constantly. Also a waste of the technology (XFR is it?) built in to the chip and chipset!

Really depends what you do with it. If you do tons of multi core stuff you can get 4.2-4.4 ish all core clocks out of it, which might offer some valuable time savings. Otherwise its hardly worth it as XFR does a pretty good job.

Im running a 4.25ghz all core clock at the moment but I switch between that an a bclk overclock(which gives about 4.18 all core clocks and 4.49 ish boost) on a whim, doesn't seem to make a huge difference to my usage. :)

It also doesn't run at full chat all the time, it still underclocks on idle with an all core overclock.

Can someone help me with my x470 gigabyte aorus ultra gaming and a 2700x to overclock only using the bios, its been a long long time since i've been on an amd cpu and the options are alien to me in the bios. what do i turn off, what do i turn on? what do i tweak?

I am pretty good at overclocking and have been doing it with intel for a long time, I have a 240 Aio water cooling system but it gets to 75 ish degrees on 4.3ghz (i guess the weather here isnt helping) but still is there a way to tweak the LLC or the Vdroop on an gigabyte board for AMD ?

If someone has a guide they can point me to if they cannot help me directly, i would be very grateful

What are you trying to achieve?

I am trying to use the bios instead of ryzen master to overclock the cpu to 4.3 or higher if its possible, but im not sure of any of the functions of the bios apart from c states and just setting the multiplier and voltage for the cpu.
On the intel one i would be setting LLC to extreme or high to prevent vdroop , disabling or enabling voltage optimization, adding a little extra to the chipset voltage to keep things stable e.t.c

For a noob who has just ordered 2700x , x470 and 3200mhz ram. Are the errors and crashes people getting because they are trying to overclock from a lower frequency or are these happening on non overcooked ram that advertises itself as 3200mhz for example?

Because if it's the latter bit worrying as I went for the teamgroup set - may just ask ocuk to do it all for me...

Pretty much the same, set the multiplier, set voltage, see if you can boot. May need LLC 3 or 4, some do, some dont. :)

I would probably start lower though, 4.2 or something.

The latter.

I upgraded from a 1700 to a 2700X because my TG 3200Mhz wouldn't work at DOCP. And it still don't work. I'm on x370 tho but still x470 users have issues too.

I think it works for most but then there are enough people out there that it doesn't.

Well that's just crap. I put in my order yesterday......

I bought a second hand x370 off MM and it's running team group 3000MHz RAM at 3400. Need to double check timings but pretty tight IIRC. Didn't need to change a thing. Just dropped it in and off it went.

Had a much harder time trying to figure out how the rajintek 90 degree bracket was supposed to work and gave up after a few hours of trying and just used the standard AMD bracket and blocked the first RAM socket. I mean I can get the RAM in just if I ever need to change it I'll have to take the cooler off

Which team group ram did you get? I have the same setup and ram maker.. and my 3200 doesnt work at its rated speed, 2866 is the most i can squeeze outta it.

This is my problem, i cant find any LLC settings i need some one Ryzeny and gigabytey to help me sort this out.

Turn it on classic mode in the bios, should be LLC settings in there somewhere.

In this vid there is an LLC setting, about 3:53.

Thank you for that,
But this is what i was mentioning in a previous post, I don't have the CPU Vcore setting just the dynamic vcore one, I alos don't have the VCORE SOC setting only the Dynamic Vcore soc and i also don't have those two options at the end....

This is what i meant to you also, where are these settings???? This is whats stopping me from OC in the bios , its upsetting me a little bit, i feel like i am missing fundamental options from my bios, I am on the latest one the f2g i think it is called.
