Ryzen 3 pricing from OCUK

That's what I've just done, bought an MSI B450 Gaming PRO Carbon AC for under £100, can flash the BIOS without a CPU. I noticed MSI added offset voltage overclocking.

I like the MSI UEFI BIOS having previously used Z68 and Z77 series motherboards.
I am tempted with the msg carbon pro due to the grams and heat sinks

its okay but remember you can get a 2600 for about £100 with 2 games. which sell for £30-40. is a 2600 at £70 vs 3600 worth it ?
The 2700 is available right now for £183 with a free game although not sure how much the game is worth. It was £160 not so long ago but maybe without a free game!
For me these are the prices that make Zen2 seem disappointingly high regardless of Intel's pricing.
I recall many people saying it wasn't worth paying the premium to buy Intel when they bought Zen 1 as the difference in performance wasn't large enough.
I feel the same way about Zen+ versus Zen2.
I'd take a 2600 or 2700 now and wait until the marketplace heats-up knowing I could buy a Zen2 or 3 in the future when pricing is less premium.

Saying that, if you look at the leaked Epyc pricing, if true they are really putting the screws on Intel there, much more so than with desktop chips.
The cheapest 16C is less than than the Ryzen 3950X.
It's almost as if the desktop chips are subsidising the Server chips!

The cheapest 16 core Epic will be lower binned chiplets than the 3950x, if you look at the higher end of the Epic range you wiĺl find the price per core makes the 3950x look like a bargain.

3900x £549.99 on release here at OcUK I reckon.
hahaha. That would be stupid. We already know for a fact we can import it ourselves for £469. (and if you have a friend ship it to you you will get it for £391). Anyway... It's very simple. If any UK retailers get funky on the price then you know what to do. Took me all of 48 hours to get my 9900k from across the water, Paid full tax on it and still saved me over £200 on the UK gouging prices. I can well wait again. If people are getting mugged off then just us some initiative. You are not forced to buy from any shop or indeed any country.

Could have sworn you ordered one, then cancelled it a few days later, I remember how up in arms you were about the gouging. :)

Ordered two. one, then cancelled it, then one which I received and flipped.
Yup, still furious about that gouging, I won't forget any time soon. OCUK would have to do something very special to gain my trust back. a 2p bag of Haribo won't cut it lol.

Yet you are very happy to use the forums they pay for. Good to see you morals only go so far.

To be fair, it is the worst move that I've ever seen OCUK make in as many years as I can remember. Yes they are a business, yes they need to make money, and yes they pay for the hosting of the forums, but if we all just lie down and accept it as a community and a customer then we are admitting we want to be ripped off and taken advantage of, right?

a company that when was taken over seemed to take its community and customers for granted, yeah thats a good example of morals also.

end of the day most of us will buy where things are cheapest overall, if its a couple of quid il probably order from ocuk because of free shipping but if you're doing a full build on new kit and its 10's to even a 100 pound difference you cant just expect people to pay that because of "community". if so my first line rings very true.

You mistake morals for business. Buy from where you want, certainly no issue with that.

you sell the games to help with the cost of purchase. £70 6 core modern cpu is a super bargin. 3600 is £200.
I would like to find someone to sell then to.
I think that the 3600 will be a very good cpu for the money anyway (and a very decent upgrade for my 2nd gaming computer).

Why do people insist on coming up with this stupid pricing for current CPU’s?

The 2600 is £170. I’ve never seen it for £100.
I cannot find it for that cheap either. However I think, that rather than saving a few pounds on a 2600, that I will get the 3600 shortly after it comes out as the games that I play probably cannot use all of its power (and I have a spare unused spire coller from a 1700 that I could use)

So is this 3600 for $199 the next 2500k? I see all the fuss but i have been out of the loop i only pay attention to cpu things when i need one. Is this the one everyones been waiting on? The 920 users too?

I did the "classic" 920 to 4770k move, more looking towards 3800X or 3900X. Wouldn't invest in a 6 core now that 8 and 12 are so affordable.

the 3600 is the cheapest 3rd gen Ryzen that AMD have announced - and like all AMD cpu's it is fully unlocked. It will have lots of cache - about 35mb I think and run quite fast - I guess that it will be <£200 and with 12 threads will be very powerful.

Not for my main pc or me i am happy with my 4770k at 4300 uncore and core its identical to a 4790k and as i run 4k i will be keeping this pc through 2020. I might think about it in 2021 at the minute Nvidia Super is taking up the chunks of cash that would be set aside for an earlier upgrade but Nvidia took it all! :P
