Not a bad shout. The 5000 will have greater longevity for sure with that IPC lift, but at what cost?Aye I'll just buy a 3000 series tbh if prices jump everywhere. Already a little high and with that happening not worth the performance difference.
Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

Looks like they've learnt nothing from the 3080 launch.
Yup. I had to try really hard to convince myself 750 was worth it for the 5950X. I’m not paying 800. At this point I will either shop elsewhere or simply wait for prices to drop.
I really don't understand the "need" to grab a CPU on launch day
...
Why not just wait a couple of weeks for detailed reviews and detailed benchmarks.
I'll stick with my 6700k for as long as it takes for prices to become reasonable.
Not interested in paying over the odds for the lastest tech these days.
Yes will do.Just wait with it... Anyway, I wanted to buy it from here, but i am going to monitor the other retailers as well.
@Gibbo can you explain why you have put your price up on the 5950X? It hasn’t even released yet!
Supprised people are moaning about a 50 quid increase on a £750 chip which is around a 7% hike, think of the people that are at the lower end of the market where buying a 6 core chip now costs £100 more which is nearly a 50% increase and these are the people with less cash to spare.Gibbo will have to update the first page of this thread with the new price .
Like @Combat Fighter said £750 is already high but £800 is a too much.
